worked great combined with other Scotts products
My lawn took a beating last year. I started off with the triple action in late spring, then put the summer guard down. I needed to thicken up the grass, and this did the job and then some.I’ll post pics of last years lawn, and the results this year.

Instructions on bag and online are different
Good After noon, This weekend I decided to give Scotts triple action a go at the crabgrass starting to take my front yard by storm. I bought the 4000sqft coverage bag and read instructions 3 times. I even had my wife look them over because the larger bag I seen the store said water, apply, wait 24hrs and water in product. On the smaller bag it states to apply and wait 24hrs than water BUT........ the scotts website says to "Apply to a wet lawn on a calm day. After 24 hours, water the lawn to wash particles onto the soil. For best results, apply using a Scotts® spreader."
I applied it to the DRY lawn with temps between 62-72 degrees.
I'll wait to see if it kills and/or prevents anything. two days after application I have seen no results. PLease add the watering before instructions on the bag like the website states.

The product packaging states (Step 2 of directions) "Make sure that the grass is wet from dew or sprinkling before applying. (This helps the particles adhere to weed leaves to produce best results.) We will pass your comments and concerns on to our Team in charge of package labeling. The listed weeds will twist and curl within a week of applying product. After a week, the entire plant will begin to shrivel and roots will begin to dry. Complete control can take 2-4 weeks. High or low temperatures (below 60 and above 80) or lack of rain may delay total control for up to a month.

Burn burn burn
Burned my lawn. Crab grass still came through. 1st time using the triple action. Will not do it again. The regular weed and feed worked much better. But now I have to find a way to regrow all that dead grass.

Destroyed my lawn, lost me as a loyal customer
I applied this product to a green and thriving lawn but I had some weeds I wanted to control and prevent from growing this fall. Within 3 days this product burned out 30% of my lawn, creating several brown spots and dead spots throughout-even though I followed the instructions very carefully! Pre watering and pst watering did not prevent the burnout and brown spots! This product ruined my lawn and now I have to start over with fall seeding. I was a loyal Scotts customer , buying seeds, fertilizer, spreaders, weed control, etc for several years. And I recommended their products to my friends and family. I will never use Scotts products again.

Killed my lawn
I bought this to eliminate crabgrass and other leafy weeds. It excelled growth in the crabgrass and killed all of my beautiful green grass. So disappointed.

For best results, this product should be applied when weeds are actively growing and when daytime temperatures are consistently between 60℉ and 90℉. Low or high temperatures will delay weed control. Although visible results may be seen within 24 hours, this product can take up to 3 weeks to completely kill weeds.

Disappointed
I put a lot of hard work into my lawn. Had mostly weeds. So I decided to start from scratch. Use a tiller/cultivater and planted new grass. Used all scotts products. The lawn grew in well; still had some bare spots where the seeds didn't grow though. Overall I was happy with the initial results. I was getting lots of compliments from neighbors. Still had some weeds grow to so I used turf builder. I was skeptical because while there were more good reviews there were lots of bad ones saying it turned grass brown. I wondered if it might be competitors of scotts writing them. I followed the directions to a tee. And ended up with brown spots in my lawn. Definitely disappointed. Hopefully my grass will get back to the beautiful green it was before. Can't put anything on it for 6 weeks according to the turf builder information. We'll see.

This product should not be applied to new grass until it has been mowed at least 4 times. (Pendimethalin will inhibit the root development and therefore prevent spreading.) We recommend watering the lawn thoroughly (1/2" of water, about 30 to 45 minutes of watering) and repeat in 2 to 3 days. Follow this watering program for 3 weeks to help grass recover.
