Yes, it can be bolted to the floor.

Does it open with a key as well?

The key is just an extra measure of lock, it doesn’t open with key, you still need code to open

I assume it would have to be pried open with a crowbar. Contents covered under warranty. All of the lower end safes have plastic locking mechanism. But it’s very sturdy, well constructed . You’d have to contact Sentry Safe for instructions to open post fire.

If the batteries are replaced does the safe revert to the factory combination or does it retain t...

Can this safe be used as a Faraday box?

Asked by Becky January 7, 2021

Answer

Interesting question. Since just about any metal box can be used as a Faraday cage I don't see why this safe would not meet the bill. However, there does appear to be a small space around the door where there is no evidence of metal on the interior. This area is made, as I understand, to withstand moisture, but to eventually fuse in the event of very high heat. There may be a way to fill that space (i.e. with aluminum foil) to ensure a complete enclosure. The same may be true for any space provided for the lock mechanism. There's too much plastic inside for me to make an investigation without tearing the thing apart. I'd look into what Google is saying about using this type of safe for Faraday purposes....

Can these safes be installed in a wall?

Yes, I have mine installed in a wall in the back of my closet.

Do you have to have the key and the combination to open the lock or does it one or the other ?

You can just key in the code or add the additional security using the key

Can jewelry be stored safely in this safe?

Asked by Catherine December 5, 2020
2
Answers

Yes. However, you should keep in mind two things: 1 - You may need silica packs or some other way to mitigate moisture issues and avoid tarnishing if you live in a humid area. 2 - This safe is rated to keep its contents "safe" for a relatively brief period if fire is involved. A raging house fire, where temperatures can reach to over 1,000 degrees will ultimately damage or destroy the safe's contents if it is not rescued in time.

What is the difference between GDC and GTC?

To add a combination 1 Press the “P” key. 2 Enter the 5 digit factory code found on the back of your owner’s manual. 3 The light will flash green and then you will have five seconds to enter your own personal 5 digit user code.

Couldn't even open
Just opened the box it shipped in and the battery holder was already messed up (not from shipping) one of the springs were missing. Stuck some aluminum foil in it to get it to work and then the safe was already locked out

Damaged upon opening
I got the same safe for my parents, so I knew I wanted to get this one. I went to pick it up myself, and upon opening, the safe was damaged. It seemed as if someone returned this one, and I received it afterward. Slightly disappointed.

Almost Perfect...
I really like it a lot. Easy to use, great space on the inside. My only problem with it was, the box was a little banged up and it had a small dent on the outside of the safe.

Very poor quality control
I’m wondering how this safe passed final quality control inspection!!! Very disappointing

Very Happy with new safe
I needed an easy to open fire/water resistant safe for documents and handguns. this safe is perfect. Easy and fast to open and has a small light inside. It's programable for the light, opening sounds, and adding my personal combination. Also has a key to lockout keypad combination. Will keep honest people honest and keep firearms out of grand children's hands.

STILL THINKING MY FINAL REVIEW
I have the safe for like 6 days today and working good. I’m worried about the keys that comes with it. Those keys don’t open the door at all. In case the key pad malfunctioning or forgot the code , this key should open your safe immediately but in my case I have tried to do that n the keys doesn’t work at all. I hav es no idea what’s going on. I haven’t call the company to find out yet. The safe looks pretty good statically speaking and feel strong and sturdy, My big question is why they made tha safe box handle from plastic? Speaking of quality this is the part that doesn’t match ( PLASTIC HANDLE) Overall the safe looks and feel expensive.

This is the second one purchased. The other a couple of years ago. Reading reviews prior to this purchase, I was surprised by some of the issues, especially about being "locked out." I suspect these situation involved a person not realizing the keypad runs off a battery that has to be replaced. READ the manual. We have had zero issues with the first purchase and expect the same with the second. It is a good, reasonable product.
