Product Details

SharkBite Push-to-connect stop valves are the fastest way to connect to PEX, copper, CPVC, or PE-RT stubouts. These valves control the flow of water to plumbing fixtures including faucets, toilets, dishwashers, washing machines, and ice makers. Braided supply lines, PEX, or copper tubing can be used to connect the outlet of the valve to plumbing fixtures. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools are required. Simply insert the pipe and the teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a watertight seal. Changes can easily be made by rotating the fitting after installation. Removing the fitting is just as fast using a disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed or reused Designed with stainless steel gripping teeth for a secure connection, chlorine-resistant O-ring for a long-lasting seal.
  • Works on wet lines, rotatable after installation, and removable

My plumber stated he prefers the the separate sharkbite 1/2 inch push to connect x 3/8 inch compression dual stop. The sharkbite is beautiful and a step up from using 2 separate compression valve. My plumber was not to thrilled with the sharkbite valve. I don't know anything about values of any kind so I rely on my plumbers choice for this plumbing job.

This is a unique double ball valve design, and it has a SharkBite connector for easy push-on connection. I have used many SharkBite products successfully on plastic, copper, and PEX with never a leak. The concept is great—being able to supply and serve two fixtures separately with one connection—but one of salient attributes of these fittings is that the fitting rotates on the pipe even after installation. Normally, this is not a problem, and it is often a plus. However, with SharkBite ball valves, the lack of a rigid connection to the pipe can be problematic since the opening and closing actions can cause the valve to rotate if the valve is not clamped tight, which is difficult to achieve, or in this case if the connecting piping is not secured or is a flexible or small line. These valves require a relatively high opening and closing force which exacerbates the problem. If the handle was 90-degrees from the 1/2-inch supply, this problem would be mostly eliminated. Also, the design is basically a “bull-head” tee with a ball valve on each side. “Bull-head” tees create turbulence and pressure drop at the point of divergence and are considered poor design practice by plumbing engineers. NEXT. The ½-inch SharkBite valve is available with two 3/8-inch compression connections and one 3/8-inch and one 1/4-inch compression connection. NEXT. The valve body is brass with a polished chrome finish. The ball appears to be SS with a brass stem and a die-cast removable handle. The compression nuts are chrome-plated brass and the ferrules are copper. There is a snap-on plastic trim collar on the ½-inch connection. The valve is made in China.

SharkBite is one of the greatest products invented especially for DIY's or home handy person. I worked with a lot of copper in the past but do not like using a torch especially in tight spots. I use SharkBite fittings as if gradually convert my 50 year old copper plumbing to PEX. I have seen a lot of jumbled messes especially under kitchen sinks- where there was a need to run another line to a refrigerator ice maker or a dishwasher. This stop valve is an ideal solution in many of those situation- it connects to a 1/2 supply line, and provides two cutoff valves for two water lines. While it will handled 3/8 compression fitting most folks now use the flexible supply lines- like the SharkBite fitting they are easier to use and esily provide a leak resistant connection. SharkBite's have saved me hours of work.. .

These are great valves for using under the kitchen sink where one side can go to the faucet & the other side can go to the dishwasher or reverse osmosis or filter units (if lines are 3/8") and then be able to shut off each independently instead of both lines being shut off together. The Sharkbite push fit on the inlet is great and I do love that there is a little snap on cover that can be removed & used as a removal tool for the Sharkbite crimp if needed. The outlet compression fittings are great instead of having push on fittings because they hold up better under a kitchen sink if lots of items are stored there. This product fits on either Copper, PEX, PE-RT, or CPVC piping.

Like many other DIY’s I really like the ease of installation using the Sharkbite products. I recently struggled to customize the plumbing connection under my sink that services my sink faucet, dishwasher, and hot water dispenser (see picture). With three separate water appliances to supply, and separate Tees to connect, it was no surprise that attaining a leak-free solution using separate plumbing tee fittings was difficult. This, coupled with the nuisance of bending under a small space with a wrench in each hand, to hold one fastener while tightening the mating connection has me seeking an alternative solution. As I am preparing to replace my failed connection, with the Sharkbite Dual Shutoff Valve, this is what I see: 1. The singular body housing sporting two integrated valves will eliminate having to join separate valves together, which itself, should eliminate another potential source of leaking. 2. The compression fittings positioned at each end of the main body should allow me to complete those connections away from a back wall, without having to contort myself to reach them under the sink. 3. After completing the compression fit, I can just push-fit the completed assembly into the supply water line at the back wall without further need for tools/tightening, body contortion. 4. I can choose to separately control the water flow to one or both valves. 5. Servicing more than two separate water appliances will still require the integration of a separate tee fitting, so I will still need to add a single tee fitting, but I will gain the ability to control the flow to at least two of the three water appliances by virtue of the additional valve built-in to this fitting. In pre-testing the operation of the control knobs, they seem tight and do stick a bit, making them difficult to turn. I am hoping they loosen with use. Also, each valve turns in a different direction than the other to control the flow of water (see picture with knobs pointing in opposite directions from each other in the “off position” when perpendicular to the body housing). The flow-control symbol ("On-Off") that is embedded in the shiny valve handle is too small and difficult to read, especially in the dimly lit conditions where these valves are typically installed. The combination of a sticky valve and the inconsistent direction of the valve to control the water flow could become problematic if by virtue of a stubborn valve, the water connections become loosened because the user is pulling at the valve body housing when trying to turn a valve in the wrong direction. Though not perfect, this is still a better solution than rigging separate tee fittings together. The ability to control the flow to two separate water fixtures, and to complete the main line installation with just a push fit, are a real plus. I would recommend this product to others.

This brand has been flawless for us on probably over one hundred installations. Definitely several hundred connections by now. The half inch side is a quick connect, reusable fitting that simply pushes on to half inch copper, pex, or cpvc. The outlets both have valves and include ferrules and nuts if you want to use soft copper tubing. Otherwise discard the ferrules and nuts and you can use common braided supply lines. This is now our go to product for kitchens to feed sink and dishwasher. Hope this helps!!! Highly recommend

This is a rather unique compression valve. You can connect two items such as a bathroom sinks cold water and a toilet with only having to plumb one line. Or you could use it for cold water to a kitchen sink and to a cold water filter system or something similar. I am planning to use it in my bathroom in a cabinet under the sink and I will run a connection from there to the toilet which is right next to the sink. Another nice feature is the movable face plate that can help hide the connection piping so the valve looks nicer.

I love SharkBite. It has saved me from pulling my hair out when other fittings just are not working and you don't have the time, patience or skill to solder or glue a joint. I am always updating the faucets, instant hot glass washer, and reverse osmosis at my kitchen sink and find I need to add more water cut offs to the standard plumbing. SharkBite made this easy for me so I no longer mind doing plumbing. If you need another water line and just want to tap off an existing line, then these fittings are magic!. I highly recommend. I use with PEX, PVC, CPVC and copper.
