SharkBite fittings are the easiest way to join pipe and do not require soldering, clamps, unions, glue or tools to complete the job. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces. Hello, We do not currently offer any fittings that are suitable for use with 1-1/2" PVC. We would also not recommend the use of these products in drainage installations and they have not been tested for use in this application. Pluming for 1985 Vacatoioneer camper

Asked by Jon June 27, 2020

Modern RVs use PEX pipe or PEX tubing. It is cheaper and easier to install than metal tubing. PEX tubing comes in all colors, but red tubes are normally used for hot water, and blue ones for cold water. I found this by just googling "what kind of plumbing pipes are used in campers" I'm also guessing that the size is 3/8" and not half inch. Perhaps even a quarter of an inch. I just replaced my electric tankless hot water heater in my singlewide. It only took 90 minutes. I have half inch copper for the cold water inlet and the hot water outlet because copper is required there. I already had 3/8 inch copper tubing but I did use half inch cold water (blue pex) for some of the cold water incoming. I used Shark Bite fittings for the whole job. That's why the replacement went so fast. My dad had a motor home and he thought the pump quit working. I just tapped on it and it worked OK. It reminded me of a ball point pen that you click to get the pen to come out and then click again to make the pen retract. There is not much water pressure so the fittings are flimsy. Those little round metal things with a screw that you turn to tighten the fitting was all that was needed.

Does the tube support liner need to be remove to us on cpvc

Asked by Spike February 23, 2020

Answers

If it fits into the pipe then no, it can remain, but the support liner is usually only needed on flexible tubing that is too soft to support the elastic seal around the outside. CPVC shouldn't need that support but if it fits it can be used.

How do you connect a shark bite

Asked by Nick September 8, 2019

You just push the pipe or tubing into it. I've used it with PEX tubing, copper pipe and CPVC pipe. There is also a tool to release it and it comes apart relatively easily. Works great. Had some installed over 10 years without problem.

There are 100s of reviews on these connectors. They work great and make quick work of plumbing. I used these to hook up a water filter and softener to my house. Transitioned from 1 inch copper to PEX and also used PVC threaded connectors on the hardware. Everything worked perfectly. Excellent product.

Needed one on the incoming cold water side of hot water heater and another for the overpressure valve exhaust. Cleaned pipes as if to solder, but installed SharkBites instead. Very easy and no leaks. Quite expensive, but if you consider the time saved and getting it right the first time, your money ahead......now to see how long it lasts!

I had to replace the water heaters in 2 of my apartments. I used a combination of shark bite and compression fittings to make the new connections, depending on what I had available in my plumbing case. Shark bite fittings are a little more flexible than compression fittings and much more flexible than solder joints for fit up and alignments.
