SharkBite Push-to-connect ball valve is the easiest way to install a new or replacement shut-off ball valve. The single lever quarter-turn control allows for easy operation and the valve is perfect for potable water and hydronic applications where a shut-off is needed. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools are required. Simply insert the pipe and the teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a watertight seal. Changes can easily be made by rotating the valve after installation. Removing the valve is just as fast using a disconnect tool so the valve can be easily changed or reused. Designed with stainless steel gripping teeth for a secure connection, a chlorine-resistant O-ring for a long-lasting seal, and backed by a 25-year warranty.

  • Compatible with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE pipe
  • Push-to-connect fittings are ideal for installation in tight spaces
  • Rated to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and 200 PSI
  • Approved for underground and behind-the-wall applications with no access panels (wrapping required when burying underground)
  • Can be installed on wet or dry lines and pressure tested immediately, no waiting on soldered joints to cool or solvents to dry
  • Low-lead DZR corrosion-resistant brass body
  • Code approved, IAPMO listed, for details see Specifications

A:  Hi, The PEX-A pipe does not need to be expanded when working with a SharkBite 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect Brass Ball Valve. If the PEX-A is not SharkBite then you will need to verify the PEX pipe has been tested and approved for push-to-connect fittings. You will find this ASTM standard (ASTM F876) printed on the pipe. If you have any more questions you can call tech support at 877-700-4242. Kind regards,

                    Easy Installation and Secure
Our water main valve started leaking and the Sharkbite 1" ball valve was the best option for CPVC installation. I followed the instructions to a T, and installed the ball valve. No issues on our main water shutoff now. Thank You for offering such a superior product.

                      Failing due to unknown reasons
I installed one and it blew apart and cost me a thousand dollars in lost water. I installed a 2nd one, thinking that there must have been a crazy situation on the first one. Second one blew apart same way and cost me another thousand dollars. The teeth were set on the side that blew apart, so it was the plastic sleeve that failed both times. I found and installed a threaded valve.

Hello, Philip. We are sorry to hear about your poor experience with the SharkBite PTC Brass Ball Valve. Our products are intended for longterm use, and we stand behind our products with a warranty of 25 years. The most common reason for failure is not pushing the SharkBite to the full insertion depth. For a 1 in. SharkBite fitting, the insertion depth is 1-5/16 in. If you have any questions about installation, feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team to help (1-877-700-4242). Great fittings. This particular slip Ball Valve was used to replace a gate valve and pipe union that was in line on a 3/4" cold water supply - a connecting nipple was significantly corroded and was dripping. Needed to add a short section of copper tubing to span the total distance of the removed parts (used a 3/4" X 3/4" MPT SharkBite to connect this extension). It took more time to remove the the old fittings than to install the new. These fittings made the task very easy.

Worked perfect. This was placed above a old corroded shutoff. It might have been better to cut the old one out, but didn’t want to chance it
