SharkBite brass coupling for copper-to-PEX connection.
Push-to-Connect coupling made it easy for me to replace copper tubing with PEX and make a copper-to-PEX connection for the laundry room water lines. Just follow the instructions and make sure you mark your depth gauge every time. Once it's locked in place, you're all set!

Hello, we are sorry to hear about the leaks you experienced with the 1/2 in. SharkBite Coupling. The main reason for failure is not pushing the fitting to the full insertion depth. A 1/2 in. SharkBite fitting requires 15/16 in. in order to create a seal. We recommend marking this depth on the pipe before installation. Please reach out to our Customer Service Team at 1-877-700-4242 so we can assist.

Kitchen Remodel
The wife and I decided to do a kitchen remodel ourselves because we're crazy. Our Kitchen sink cabinet needed to be replaced because of an old leak from a faucet sprayer line. Our plumbing lines are PEX which at the time I thought they were PVC. Not knowing the difference between the two, I called my local plumber and showed him a picture of what I had and he explained to me that my lines were PEX.
Anyway we took out the old lines and put new ones in using the Shark Bites. The old lines didn't have shark bites. they were press or shrink fitted and had to be completely cut out. Using the shark bites made the job EXTREMELY easier for me since I am a rookie plumber. During the remodel I had to connect, reconnect, disconnect again, reconnect again, multiple, multiple, multiple times. The shark bites made that process again so much easier to work with. I thought after disconnecting them so many times that they would for sure leak. NOPE!! On the last time I had to connect and reconnect the Shark Bites, one of the white pieces came out. I thought for sure that it would now leak. I put the white piece back in correctly and no issues what so EVER!! You definitely get your $$$ worth with the shark bites. All my connections are shark bites. Including the shut off valves. As you can imagine I highly, highly, recommend these for a plumbing issue, repair, or replacement of any kind.

Makes repairs easier
I had a pinhole leak in a 90 deg elbow. I soldered together a new elbow and connected it to the existing tubing with a 3/4" coupling and a 3/4" repair coupling. I really like the fact that you can make the repair with no soldering - I did not want to use a torch in the tight area in my ceiling. It turns out that I had more play in the tubes than I thought so I could have used a regular coupling rather than a repair coupling on the vertical tube. God forbid that it happens again, but if it does, I'll get two regular couplings and a repair coupling and return the one I don't use.
These are super products that I highly recommend for the DIY'er. Just follow the directions on deburring and cleaning the tubes so the O-ring isn't damaged and can make a good seal.
Four years ago, I had a pinhole leak in a 1/2" straight section of copper tubing. I used the Sharkbite repair coupling. Again, fairly easy to use and still holding strong with no issues.
