About This Product

SharkBite Max push-to-connect fittings are the fastest way to connect PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT or HDPE pipe. A newly designed stainless steel collet retainer delivers additional strength and durability and provides a 250 psi pressure rating. SharkBite Max fittings don't require a PEX tube liner and a re-engineered body allows you to insert the pipe using less force and greater ease. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue or special tools required. After inserting the pipe, stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe tightly while a specially formulated O-ring compresses around the pipe to create a watertight seal. The fitting can be rotated after installation for quick adjustments and removing the fitting is just as fast with a disconnect tool, allowing fittings and valves to be changed or reused.

Highlights

  • Requires no special tools to install on hot or cold-water lines
  • Can be installed on wet or dry lines pressure tested immediately
  • Rotatable after installation and removable
  • PEX tube liner not required
  • Approved for underground and behind-the-wall applications with no access panels (wrapping required when burying underground)
  • Low-lead DZR corrosion-resistant brass body
  • Rated to 200°F and 250 psi
  • Code approved, IAPMO Listed, for details, see specification
  • 25-year warranty when used with PEX, copper, CPVC and PE-RT pipe, see warranty

            Huge improvement versus old product
So much easier to use than the old style fittings. I was working on a ladder, arms wrapped around some venting, behind a water heater and getting the max fitting on was so much easier than the old versions. Great improvement and love not having to get my needle nose pliers out and remove all of those PEX stiffeners when working on copper. Love the added strength for peace of mind, but the old fittings were strong enough too!

              Very satisfied
This is the first time I used SharkBite for an emergency repair and I am very happy I did. Toilet tank lid fell on the shutoff valve which cracked the elbow inside the wall. I had to use a coupling to extend the ½ PVC through 2X4 into the Elbow and a Shutoff. SharkBite had it all and made the entire repair easy and quick. This is great for DIYers.

I had to replace the water heaters in 2 of my apartments. I used a combination of shark bite and compression fittings to make the new connections, depending on what I had available in my plumbing case. Shark bite fittings are a little more flexible than compression fittings and much more flexible than solder joints for fit up and alignments.
