Product Details
The SharkBite Ice Maker Installation Kit has everything you need to install the water supply to your Ice maker. The kit includes 1 SharkBite 1/2 in. Service Slip Tee, one 1/2 in. x 1/4 in. (3/8 in. O.D.) Push-to-Connect Angle Stop Valve, a 10 ft. coil of 1/4 in. PEX Pipe, one 1/4 in. (3/8 in. O.D.) SharkBite x 1/4 in. O.D. Compression Connector, and a 1/2 in. and 1/4 in. disconnect clip to remove the pipe from the fitting if needed. The SharkBite Service Slip Tee allows you to remove up to 2 in. of your existing copper or CPVC line and add an angle supply stop valve. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces. The included 10 ft. PEX coil connects to the push-to-connect angle stop valve 1/4 in. outlet and the 1/4 in. Ice maker connector which will thread onto your Ice Maker. The pipe can be cut to the exact length needed so there is no excess supply line to coil providing a clean, tangle free look.

Answer This Question
A:Â Hi, The SharkBite Push-to-Connect Ice Maker Installation Kit can be used with hard drawn copper lines that are rated (ASTM B88) type K, L, and M. If the copper line is a roll of copper tubing then you can not use the SharkBite Push-to-Connect Ice Maker Installation Kit. If you have any more questions you can call tech support at 877-700-4242. Answer This Question
A:Â Yes you can replace the parts in the kit. Not sure why you are buying the kit.
And then replacing all but one part. Might as well just buy the individual parts, less waste and I bet it would be less expensive.

Answer This Question
A:Â The supplied tubing is intended to coil up behind the fridge so you can pull it out for cleaning. It runs from the supplied valve to your fridge. You will need to provide your own length of 1/2" PEX to run from the supplied slip Tee to the valve. You will cut out the existing saddle valve (good riddance right?) so that your shut off is now located near the fridge rather than down in the crawl space.

Works like a charm!
I installed this into a pex 1/2" cold water line. I bought the sharkbite depth tool and I'm glad I did. Take your time, go step by step, double check your work, and this kit works like a charm!

Easy to install if you follow instructions. Watching the video beforehand is helpful as well. Excellent product for a DIY project at home. Only wish they would offer a kit with a longer PEX pipe (20-25 feet), as I had to purchase a 50 ft pipe separately to reach where I had to connect.

Caution with Whirlpool Regriderators
The connection that comes with this kit does not fit well with all make/model refrigerators. Specifically, with my model Whirlpool refrigeator you are unable to get a good male/female sealed connection at rear of your refriderator. I was lucky enough to notice the small leak before it destroyed my flooring. Sharkbite customer service is aware of the issue and they will send at no charge a different press fitting.

Perfect
I had a traditional saddle-style kit that began to leak in multiple places - at the handle and (weirdly) right in the middle of the tubing. This was more expensive than a simple replacement, but it's worth it. It more than doubled the water pressure at the fridge. It looks so much better and I'm pleased to know that this was done "the right way". And as with all Shark bite stuff, it's super easy.

I Love It!!!!
Bought this because the water dispenser on my refridgerator did not have much pressure. Filling up a 16oz glass would take 2 minutes! Took about 20 minutes to rip out the old tapper mechanism and replace it with this wonderful invention. Went from filling up a glass in minutes to a few seconds.

This is the easiest and best way to super charge your refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser. Took me a whole 1/2 hour this morning to replace the old pin punch water supply hardware. This is the first of the Shark Bite hardware I have tried and I am very impressed.

Couldn't be happier!
Finally a plumbing project that went right the first time. Replaced my old self puncture saddle valve to this kit to increase the water pressure in the fridge water dispenser. We have gone from a trickle to high speed! Easy to install, took around 30 min in total. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Awesome waterline freezer kit
I bought a mid size fridge with an ice maker for my garage and bought this Shark Bite ice maker water line kit to hook it up. I was really hesitant to try solder-less connections, but after seeing other reviews from around the web and actually trying it out for my self, I am totally sold on it. The installation was so easy. It only took me about 30 minutes total time. The only thing I don't like about this kit is that it does not come with an adapter to hook up a 1/4 inch screw on type hose directly to it. As you can see in my picture, I had to add an extra elbow connection to get this to work. The supply line they provide is not very long. I needed about 20 feet, so I bought a 25 foot vinyl line. I used about 8 inches of the line they supplied, then connected the 25 ft. vinyl line with the elbow connector. I'm still pleased with everything and especially since there were no leaks at all when turning the water on.

EASY!
I am not fond of plumbing work, but this is so easy to install! Cut out 2" of pipe, mark the correct insertion depth on the pipe, slide it on & pull it back to the correct depth, press on the valve, & then run the PEX tubing. Installation took less than 30 minutes, even though I tricked it out a little bit with an exterior ice-maker water filter. Besides the obvious ease of connection, I love that it has a quarter-turn shutoff. Reliable & simple. The PEX tubing is very easy to work with. It also comes with some decorative covers that conceal the connection points. I love this thing!
We recently received a new refrigerator with an ice maker (finally, yes. An ice maker!). This kit made tying into our existing 1/2" copper water lines super easy. Watch their videos on YouTube on how to install and yes, it's really that easy.
