About This Product

Siemens introduces the new simple, spacious and secure Plug-on neutral load centers with electronic breakers. The Siemens Plug-On Neutral Combination Type AFCI breaker detects arcing faults (an unintentional arcing condition in a circuit) that standard circuit breaker are unable to detect. This AFCI circuit breaker is the same, reliable design, without the pigtail, specifically design for the Plug-On Neutral Load Centers. These breakers now only have a single load lug. The branch neutral conductor is returned to the neutral terminal bar for simpler and quicker wiring.

My new refrigerator keeps tripping this new breaker every hour, how do I stop this?
              ByJun 24, 2022
              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

Refrigerators need to be GFCI, not AFCI, protected, if the outlet is within 6 feet of the sink, or in the basement or garage. But even with GFCI you can get nuisance tripping. There doesn't seem to be an answer for this in the Code, as far as I am aware.

Will the new plug-on neutral arc fault breakers work on 3 wire branch circuits?
                ByOct 15, 2021
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

Technically the would work but don't meet code as there isn't a handle tie to connect two single pole breakers. You would need to get the 2 pole AFCI breaker.

                  Don't Buy These Circuit Breakers
My home was built with with these breakers. DO NOT EVER BUY THEM!!!!. They constantly trip sometimes 20+ times daily. Regardless of the load on the circuit.

                    Terrible Design
We built a new house and had to use these breakers due to code. What a waste of money. We have breakers that randomly trip. Replaced them now thry trips ALL.THE.TIME. It is so bad that I feel I should have left the old ones. If you have a fan motor on these breakers, make sure you have a clear path to the panel. Another issue is if you buy it from one place you can't swap it out somewhere else. I was told I had to go to the actual store it was purchased from to exchange it. What a nightmare!

These breakers suck. We have a new house and they are constantly tripping with an amp reading of as low as 4. What do I do? Replace the entire service panel. Siemens probably made a large donation the NEC. The NEC would then require arc fault on all new homes. Looking forward to the new of the class action law suit. How can the NEC require a breaker that can truly see a fault and trip for no reason?

Would not recommend. Best used as a doorstop .
4 of 5 breakers are faulty. Purchases both 15A, 20A and two 20A tandem breakers. Installed in Siemens load center. Constant nuisance tripping. Troubleshot wires - all were correct. System tested fine with no load. Trips when anything plugged in. 5th breaker works (20A) in any of the five circuits.
