There are several knockouts available. Please see attached link to our Speedfax catalog. Page 1/30 middle left side picture would be the knockout diagram for this unit. https://s3.amazonaws.com/dcc-data-extract/new-delta/asset/Compas/daily/Compas/2020-04-02/SpeedFax/SF-17-Sect-01-ALL-web.pdf

E0408ML1125SU is a 4 space 8 circuit maximum load center using Type QP standard size and Type QT duplex breakers. Please consult with a licensed electrician to determine circuit requirements. The green bond screw should be installed for service entrance applications only. It would not be installed for a sub-panel application. Again, consult with an electrician.

How to connect 4 wire 240v (off grid generator ) to this panel?

To get 240V from this panel, you have to wire the lugs for 240V. From your power source, you wire one hot wire to each of the two main lugs; the white neutral goes to the large neutral lug; and the ground wire goes to the ground bar. Then you install a two pole breaker to goes on two of the stabs. That will give you the 240V - 120V from each pole on the breaker. Then wire your generator from the two pole breaker and neutral/ground bar. But from the way you phrased your question, I assume you are a novice electrician. If so, get someone with experience to assist you or to do it for you. You are working with 240 volt and whatever amps you wire the panel for. For someone who is not exactly sure what they are doing, that can be deadly.

What type of curcuit breaker do I buy for this?

Go to Home Depot and look for the Siemens QT breakers. They also have full size breakers in a double pole but I do not know the catalog number. Just look for the mounting feet on the back and the slot plug-in on the front. If you purchase the panel, HD will allow you to open it and you can make sure the breakers you purchase are the correct ones. That may save you another trip.

Routing the service wires to the bus bar lugs is a bit awkward. Would have been nicer to position all the lugs along one edge of the bus block. Also, needing to buy a separate kit just to have a ground bar seems like nickel and diming; it's a little piece of bent sheet metal and some screws; just throw it in the box. To add insult to injury, the only offered locations to mount the ground bar kit block some knockout holes in the enclosure. Overall, though, this seems solid and like it will easily last 100 years.
