The Square D by Schneider Electric 60 Amp 240-Volt 2-Pole General Duty Safety Switch is designed for residential and commercial applications where durability and economy are prime considerations. Typical loads are lighting, air conditioning and appliances. The switch is UL listed, File E2875, and meet or exceed the NEMA Standard KS1. For more than 100 years the Square D brand safety switch has been the unchallenged leader in the market. We've continued our tradition of innovation, developing new features that provide an unsurpassed level of performance, reliability, safety and ease of installation. This tradition has resulted in the Square D brand being preferred two to one over our closest competitor.

  • This Safety Switch is compatible with Square D transformers, panelboards, load centers, lighting, contactors, I-Line and residential QO or Homeline circuit breakers, NQ & NF panels
  • This safety switch is compatible with H, K, or R Fuse Type
  • 3-wire design with 2 blades and fuse holders and 1 neutral
  • 120/240-Volt AC
  • 60 Amp Rating Maximum
  • NEMA type 3R metallic enclosure for indoor or outdoor use
  • The lugs on this device will accept (1) #14 - 3 AWG copper or (1) #12 - 3 AWG aluminum conductors per phase.

Q:What type of fuses does this switch utilize?

Answer This Question

A:  These switches accept Class H or K fuses as standard. For design Series E1, E2 or E3, options include Class R fuses (field install Class R Fuse Kit DRK30). With Class H or K fuses installed, the switch is UL listed for use on systems with up to 10,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes available fault current. With Class R fuses (and DRK30 fuse kit installed) the switch is UL listed for use on systems with up to 100,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes available fault current. NOTE: DO NOT USE RENEWABLE LINK FUSES IN SQUARE D SAFETY SWITCHES. The use of renewable link fuses may adversely affect user safety, impair reliability and will void the warranty.
