Can this be installed upside down with the main lugs at the bottom?
              BySep 28, 2024

              Answer This Question

Hi Sparkyquestion, Yes for HOM2448L125PQGC this can be installed upside down. The NEMA 1(indoor) CONVERTIBLE Mains, can be bottom fed by rotating the complete load center and cover. This will NOT cause the labeling to be "upside down", it will just start the circuit counting at the bottom of the cover where the Mains is located, but it will read appropriately. Warm Regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care.

My electrician installed a load center panel catalog number QO124L125G. Can I install a 100 or 125 amps Main Breaker? what part number for the main breaker you will recommend for this load center panel. Thanks Bill

                Answer This Question

Hi Carlos, The QO124L125G and HOM2448L125PQGC are different load centers. But you can install a QOM1 main breaker to the both of them and they will use the same part number. For a 100A, QOM100VH is the part, and QOM125VH for a 125A main breaker. Warm regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care

Love this panel! Actually the second time I’ve bought it. The Quik grip are to die for when using the normal 12 AWG and 14 AWG wires. I hate how expensive arc fault breakers are but if you have to buy them at least all you have to do is snap on instead of pigtails. Highly recommended purchase.

Been wanting to update an older electrical box in my Modular Home. It came with a 100 amp 8 Circuit box & I would like to expand the home with a small addition for a small work shop. I had no extra spots to run a circuit to the Shop or the Front Mud Room Addition. Got this because Homeline is a trusted name & a quality electrical box & the circuit breakers are readily available right here at my Favorite Home Depot! Made an appointment & helped change out the box easy peasy. The amount of knock outs made a very easy install & was able to route & clean up a wiring mess. Now, I have extra room to grow & am more confident in the newer beakers I have installed. Great Product. Only Pics shown are the inside to show size & quality. Besides House was a bit messy... LoL...

I’m building a new 4 car attached garage and want a subpanel in it. I like things neat and organized and that includes my electric wiring and panels so with the Quick Grip Wire Management System it will be so much easier to install the new wires since I won't have to pull them through the knockouts. This will save a lot of time during the installation. This box does not come with a main breaker, but it can be added and I plan on doing that. The circuit breakers for this panel are reasonably priced at about $4 each, even more if I buy in bulk and considering how many I’ll need to buy that it also a savings. The full-length ground/neutral terminal blocks run right beside the power bus on each side. This means you won’t have all the ground/neutral wire in one area of the panel. It also makes for an easy installation of CAFI breaker that will clip onto the neutral bar or the AFCI breaker that has the neutral wire that’s a part of it, so it can be attached to the neutral bar right below it. The panel is high quality.

As far as panels go this looks to be like other units we have installed. Using this to do a Load Center swap for more modern panel and updated breakers. . Be advised this panel will only support 125 amps, 24 space 48 circuits. Some of the benefits of this newer panel are Quick-Grip which are channels on the top and bottom of the panel for inserting cables into the panel , no knock outs or connectors needed For my project this really speeded things up and kept things in order. With the plug on Neutral bar this also made a nice clean install . Its also useful if your installing CAIF , Dual breakers , HEPD or Neutral Surge protectors. FYI you will need to use HomeLine breakers , which are not included. This also includes a door with lock . Installing this flush was easy and worked nice. This product is intended for licensed experienced electricians use. DIY Be sure you understand the HAZARDS of working with electricity and follow good safety practices.

I've been a Square D fan for a long time. Usually I use the QO versions of the Breaker Panels, with the main difference being that the QO versions have indicators showing when a breaker is tripped. I had occasion to use a Homeline panel not too long ago and it was rather nice - a really good value since it came with the main and some other breakers. This is a beast of a panel! It is huge! It does not, however, come with the main or any other breakers, thus the average rating on value. A couple of things to note. The bus bars for common/ground run the full length of the panel, and I have found this to be a great feature - really keeps the wiring neat and clean. Second, this panel has a plastic Quik-Grip cable system for running NM wire through. For installation where you have a lot of circuits, I think this is a great feature. See the picture for more details.

The Square D Homeline 125 Amp 24-Space 48-Circuit Indoor Main Lug Plug-On Neutral Load Center with Cover, Ground Bar. As a do-it yourselfer I normally don't work too much with Electrical, although I built a house and hired an electrician but this box is unique. It has individual knockouts on the top and bottom for the wires with a unique design, something I've never seen before. One thing about this box is that it doesn't come with any main breaker, I assume that's because it's usually used as a sub-panel and the breaker might vary in size. It has separate unconnected ground points that you can place in multiple areas within the box so I suppose that would be very convenient to the owner. See the unique design below.

Loved the rating and the number of cicuits BUT I did not like the way that the romex entered the panel. It didnt offer too many K.O.'s and had a funky system to attatch the cables. Maybe for a new install this would have worked better but for a panel replacement it was rough!
