About This Product

Square D Homeline 15 Amp 1-pole Plug-On-Neutral Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (CAFCI/CAFI) helps keep people and property safe from the effects of dangerous arcing. These arcs typically occur out of sight, inside walls or electrical devices, day or night. Designed for reliability, the Homeline Plug-on Neutral CAFI Circuit Breaker connects directly to the neutral bar, providing a time and labor-saving installation. Several advantages from the Plug-on Neutral design are fewer connections which lead to faster installation and an innovative neutral clip eliminates pigtails which in turn frees gutter space. This breaker is only compatible with Square D's Homeline Plug-On Neutral electrical panels with available space for a 1-pole breaker. A total of 12 spaces required for entire offering. The Square D CAFI circuit breaker uses a state-of-the-art Arc Detection Technology to continuously monitor the circuit and quickly turn-off the power (trip) when a dangerous condition is detected. Best of all, this technology is combined with Square Ds robust and reliable short circuit/overload protection systems in a small, compact package. Engineered for Value and built for Quality, the market leading Square D brand Homeline Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter combine time-tested performance with state-of-the-art technology to provide 1 of the safest circuit breakers available today. This breaker is also designed for residential and commercial uses.

Q:Hello, what is the difference between Square D breaker models HOM115 PDFC and HOM115 PCAFIC?

Answer This Question

A:  Doug, Combination arc fault circuit interrupters protect branch circuits and all downstream receptacles and cord sets against both high energy parallel arcing (the same as existing branch/feeder AFCIs) and low energy series arcing. A dual function device combines combination arc fault protection with Class A ground fault (people) protection. Warm regards. Schneider Electric Customer Care

Q:Homeline 15 Amp Single-Pole Plug-On Neutral Combination Arc Fault Circuit Breaker(HOM115PCAFIC) Can this be used with a shared neutral circuit?
      by|Jan 19, 2023

      Answer This Question

A:  Mark, For 120V circuits that are fed by 1p CAFI, AFI, GFI, DF or EPD breakers, the neutral should NOT be shared between two circuits. Doing so will cause one or both breakers to nuisance trip. The circuits should be wired in such a way that each 120V circuit has its own neutral. NOTE: If existing wiring already uses shared neutrals between two 120V circuits, and re-wiring is not an option, consider using one 2p breaker in place of the two 1p breakers (if local electrical code allows). The following 2p breakers types are available: 2p CAFI (use on 120/240V system; not for use on 208Y/120V system) 2p GFI (use on 120/240V as well as 208Y/120V systems) 2p EPD (use on 120/240V as well as 208Y/120V systems) Regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care

Plug On Neutral. Easy to wire in. Be sure to run the load neutral to the breaker instead of the bar.
