Hello, The "plug-on neutral" feature is required only for breakers that have a neutral connection. Therefore, there are no "plug-on neutral" standard HOM breakers, as this feature is not required. Regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care.

Grounding Rod Do I need one

Asked by Mark August 20, 2020

Answers

Hello Mark, When the load center is applied as service equipment, any UNUSED branch neutral terminals may be used to terminate equipment ground conductors. Use an Equipment Ground Bar Kit for terminating the ground conductors that the Neutral Assembly could not accommodate. In a sub-panel application, the branch neutral conductors should be terminated in the insulated branch neutral assembly terminals. The main neutral should not be bonded to the enclosure (i. e. the green neutral bonding screw will NOT be installed). Use a PK__GTA Ground Bar Kit for terminating the equipment ground conductors. Dependent upon the load center in use, the Ground Bar Kit may be factory included, factory installed, or require purchasing separately. Warm regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care

Hello, Yes, you can use the HOM2448M100PCVP as a subpanel. You have to install a ground bar (Catalog number PK23GTA) and remove or not install the green bonding screw to isolate the neutral and the ground. Regards.

Hello Antman, The answer to your Question "Can I install this upside down"? is YES. Just make sure you use all the proper connectors, your wires are long enough and you have all the proper grounding attached to the panel when doing a panel change. If you're in the NOVA area and in need of a Master Electrician after all this Covid-19 stuff is over 7033509963 don't forget if you go out to wear a mask. Stay Safe and I hope this Helps.

Bouth this to replace a 20 space/40 circuit panel in an older home i bought last year. The panel only had one space left and was mostly filled with tandem breakers. It was time for an upgrade. My electrical back ground is non existant other than running a couple outlets in the house. But im willing to try just about any project. I was worried about the panel not having a ground bar like others had mentioned initially. However, after talking to the homedepot electronics guy, realized i didn't need it. I have another 200amp breaker at the pole outside. its grounded there and i have 3 wires comming into my house into my 200amp indoor panel. Two hot and one neutral. So all of the grounds and neutral wires from the breakers go on the same bar. Granted my old box was wired like this, i just wanted to make sure no corners were cut. I found that this box had a much better layout than the one i replaced, really easy to work in. The only negative i would have to say, is that the 1/2" knockouts in the top seem too close together when working with the wire clamp fittings. But with a little finess, i was able to make it work. Total time was 8 hours start to finish (not including the 35 min one way trip back to homedepot for the stuff i forgot...fail). Im sure someone who knows what they are doing can do it faster and prettier, but thought it looked good for a rookie.

Panel lock outs were hard as heck to knock out....
Panel lock outs were hard as heck to knock out. Had to drill them and buy a knockout punch. Defeated the pourpose. And that was with each panel as I bought 2! I had to pound out the holes and it bend the panel. Then I had to drill holes next to each of the pre cut/solid metal in order to knock them out with a step bit. I saved -$54 per panel as I had to go buy a knockout kit and several unibits and drill bits. My video won’t post

Swapped out a fuse panel for the breaker, insurance requireded it, or pay $350 more per year. Four hours and about $110 in cost, less than 1 year payback.
