I have these circuit breakers in my electrical panel and an electrician just told me they should all be replaced, that they were not the right ones for the first floor apartment (ADU) in my house. Is this good advice or should i hire another electrician? Thanks!!
Asked by: StonesThrow
If you no longer have a problem I wouldn't do anything. If that breaker still occasionally trips I'd call a different electrician. It's very common to split wire a duplex receptacle under the kitchen sink on one 20 amp 120 volt circuit to serve both dishwasher and disposer. Of course, the breaker could be bad and tripping prematurely, but that would be rare. Chances are you just had an unexplainable nuisance trip.

What wire do I use with a 15 amp breaker to add a extra switch and light in my panel

Need to know what breaker and wire is best to add a new switch and light
Asked by: Richie
Typically #14 AWG wire is used on a 15 amp lighting circuit. Usually the wire is in cable form and generally Type NM-B cable.

No; unsafe, risk of fire. Add additional circuit.

can It be installed in standard homeline breaker box?

Can this plug on neutral breaker be used in a standard (non plug on neutral) breaker box such as the HOM612L100SCP? Home Depot does not seem to sell the HOM120. I need a standard 20 amp breaker for motorized equipment in my workshop.
Asked by: Silvercrest
Home Depot sells standard breakers for homeline boxes. The one pictured isn't a plug on neutral breaker, its a standard homeline breaker. Maybe your existing panel is a QO panel?

These older breakers in theory should not be sold to a DIY homeowner who might be ignorant of the code changes. If they continue to be sold, a warning should be placed in that area indicating that these are not complaint with the current National Electrical Code.
