NEMA 3 - Meaning it can be used outdoors
In Arizona SRP (the Electrical Utility) WILL NOT allow overhead wires to pass the meter socket coming from above and then 180 back up to the lugs...at inspection that will be an Instant Fail... and you will need to replace panel with one specifically for overhead service.
Yes
Schneider Customer Care states a specific kit is required, but you must "check with the local utility for approval." However, in reviewing this kit, it is not UL Listed or otherwise safety certified for use with the panelboard. Better to check with the local building or electrical inspection community.
I googled SR69064A,four small lug pieces worth four dollars and sell for $10 would be reasonable, but it sells for ~$80! I used to use SquareD for couple of years, now I consider to change to Eaton as I can't find dual function AFCI/GFCI at good price.
Nope, all the knock-outs are at the bottom, bottom back, and bottom side. The only opening would be for the service feed if it's coming from the top - and that is on top of the meter bay. Would not recommend trying to drill holes in the top to feed branch circuits down since the bus bars are on the top (under the plastic cover) - that would be a disaster waiting to happen. The web page should have a link to a .pdf of the panel drawing. I always check those to make sure it will work.
No, on this particular model the buss rating is 200A. I bought one thinking it was 225A and the label on the door says 200A. It is only "solar ready" in that you can put a kit #SR69064A (as the specs here say) to make it accept a line-side tap. If you want a 225A buss - use model SC3042M200PS (why the model number is the same series, yet a completely different solar-ready style is beyond me).
Hello Coxman, Yes, it has overcurrent protection. QOB breakers are only offered with an 80% continuous operation rating, so you can not run it with 200A during more than 3 hours. Regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care.
You're out of luck, this is a surface mount panel. Recessed panels have a flange to mount to the studs and then be covered by your siding material. No flanges on this, it's exterior surface mount only. Search for a recessed panel, they're out there.
The panel does use the Square D "homeline" breakers. This is especially true of the new AFCI/GFCI breakers that mount over the ground/neutral terminal. I have found they are easy to buy at most stores.
