What’s the spring for?

Yes, you can use nut-set also known as a blind nut, pop rivet, rivet nut. As long as they are: aluminum and steel rivet diameters: 1/8, 3/32, 5/32 and 3/16 in. or stainless steel rivet diameters: 1/8 and 5/32 in.
I am looking for a manual tool to install 1/4-20 jack nuts. I just want to know if this tool can do this job.
