These chairs are sturdy and solid. The finish is a little sketchy --- feels and looks like primer. But overall, I am pleased with the style and overall appearance in my dining room. Best chair for the price!

Quality Control Issues
Solid heavy chairs if you are going to paint them…I would not recommend staining. There is a manufacturing defect on one of the ones we received. There is an extra hole on the outside of one of the legs. They also went on sale after I bought them

These are decent chairs but the are NOT “unfinished” if you are looking for a chair to stain to match something you may not want these. They have a clear coating, even with a lot of sanding they didn’t take stain well even after pre-stain wood conditioner. Next I am going to try painting them with chalk paint.

A nice pair of Parawood unfinished chairs with a sealer coat that will protect the wood until you're ready to finish with paint and stain of your choice. These chairs arrive disassembled, which is helpful if you're planning to finish them. They go together fairly easily. I have tested the gel stain I plan to use, which is a java/dark brown shade. The piece does take the stain unevenly, which is fine with me, just adds to the farmhouse/rustic look. However, it's something to note if you're planning to stain. A conditioner might be helpful. Otherwise you can easily paint the chairs the color you choose, or just use them as-is.

The Stylewell Cedarville Black Wood Dining Chair With Cross Back in a set of two is good value for the money . They do have to be fully assembled and it is not the easiest chairs i have assembled. But i do love the styleing of them . They are 19.42 inches wide by 31.98 inches High. Much shorter than most dining chairs i have had in the past. I do not expect them to be very comfortable for a long seating so cushions might be something to consider.

The chairs are nice but the assembly is a real pain. I spent two hours assembling these chairs. They look great and hold up to 300lbs. They have a protective finish which we did slightly sand before we went and sprayed the chairs with a high quality clear polyurethane. We have them currently in the garage drying and getting the smell of the finish out. Tomorrow we will place them in the hot dun to finish the curing of the finish. Overall nice item.

Very convenient wooden chairs! Unfinished surface looks great (I am researching right now the way to paint, may go with some transparent enamels to preserve natural appearance).
As see from above I liked the finish (or unfinished surfaces), continence, and overall design. Now a couple pieces of bitter lime: chairs are not perfect and there are minor flows. Specifically, not all bolt are easy to screw in (threads might be not perfect). Leg pads were missing on 2 legs on first chair and on 1 leg for another (and those pads were not lost somewhere in the package). Finally, on one chair leg you can see cracks (this is fixable, but this is NEW item).
Assembly: plan to spend ~30 min/chair assembling – a lot of labor to put all the bolts and screws. Assembly was simple with all parts and instructions included.
With all above, I can recommend the chairs with reservation and rate them at ~4 stars (overall) with quality at ~3 stars. Manufacturer must invest time into QC.

I would recommend Stylewell Cedarville Dining Chairs. These chairs come in a pack of two. Easy to assemble and clear directions to follow. I was able to put these chairs together by myself in a few minutes. They are the most solid built chair that I have sat in, in a long time. Solid wood structure will help these chairs to last for years. They each will hold up to 300 lbs. Easy to clean up with just a damp cloth. The slightly curved seat is very comfortable to sit in. The Black finish on the chairs is very modern.
