Is this made out of wood or particle board?

It's not solid wood but it sure looks like it. I have other cabinets way smaller that I paid way too much for.

How long does this take to put together?

It took me about 4 hours by myself but I took little breaks here and there and a few times made some little mistakes that had to be undone and redone.

Perfect Storage Cabinet
I absolutely LOVE thsi little Midnight Blue storage cabinet. It is small enough that I can move it aroun by myself but holds a lot on the shelves and in the drawer. I hired someone I found through the Home Depot to put it together so I do not know how long it takes or how difficult it is but it turned out great!

Needed a slightly larger pantry and this one fit the bill. It was pretty easy to assembly - only took me about 45 minutes. Only issue I had at first was that I couldn't find the small part identification labels on the panels. Other than that, the whole thing went together rather easily. Construction feels pretty solid overall and the finish looks pretty nice. As far as storage capacity goes, the interior offers many options when it comes to shelf adjustment. The drawer isn't terribly big, but it is good enough. My only minor complaint is that the drawer needs to be closed evenly otherwise it stays open by about 1/8". That's just me being nitpicky though.

Very compact, has a “cubby hole” like design for small items, nothing too tall, you can adjust the 2 shelves and in total you have 6 small “cubby” holes to store things. Very true, this is good for dry goods storage. I have a mix of cleaning supplies, baby related items, misc. clothing items, etc. I plan to use the lower storage drawer for toys and table clothes. Things that can be very flat , not tall. I’m not too keen on cooking utensils as I have a little baby that gets into everything. I did have problems with getting the bottom drawer to close, something goofed up in the assembly. I ended up tapping it in with my foot, but then I had to open it and the drawer came completely out. I wasn’t too happy at this moment. I manage to get it back in. It does have classic lines, though I’m not too keen on the construction materials, it uses a lot of particle board materials and they tend to blister if the screws don’t go in straight. There’s a bottom board under the bottom drawer to support the bottom and it broke during assembly. I used some construction adhesive and I got it to work. I may to go back in with screws, but it’s holding up so far. Because the interior shelving area is small, you’re already limited on weight capacity, but that’s not my situation, so it should be good enough. Functionality, it does provide a nice bit of extra storage and I do like the doors that close and hide everything. I think why I didn’t recommend it was that it is too small

Sturdy, functional, and attractive option at this price point, and great for smaller spaces. My home is on the small side, and the kitchen area is one of those combo cooking-eating areas. On top of that, the combo space has a horrible floor plan with an awkward flow that meant we've been tearing our hair out looking for solutions that fit the space at a price we can afford. This Stylewell product came through for us. It's listed as a farmhouse style, but the decorative elements are subtle enough that it can be used in a lot of different types of kitchens and eating areas. I can imagine using this in other areas of the house as well where you might need extra storage. The interior is divided up just enough to allow for really nice organization. We put all the caffeinated tea on one side of the lower shelf and the herbal teas on the other. The shelves are adjustable, which allowed us to maximize the storage for tea on the bottom, wine in the middle, and plates on top. The drawer is a great idea, but it's one of the major strikes against the unit. Most of the unit is wood or high density pressed fiber board, which is pretty stable and should last a while. The drawer, however, is a much less dense chipboard material. The bolts and screws placed during drawer assembly are in such thin parts of the chipboard that I doubt the drawer would handle heavy use. You will also see in the picture that there's a visible gap at the back when it's open, which makes it look like it's an inch shorter than it should be just to save money. Finally, the drawer movement is less smooth than I'd like, and you have to shove it in the final inch to get the drawer to seat fully. Now a few notes about the assembly process. The directions say you'll need a "small head" and a "large head" screwdrivers. What they really mean is you'll need one with a standard handle and one with a very short handle. You will not be able to complete step 3B or 3D with long handled screwdrivers. Tiny (1 mm) chips of metal occasionally broke free of the locking cogs and flew several feet. I've never seen a metal part shear or split during furniture assembly, so this seemed important to note. Wear your safety goggles just in case. At step 5, the instructions show the cabinet in an upright position. Don't move it upright; leave it face down on the floor. The back panels do not have any strut to rest on during installation, so unless you have someone holding the panels for you, you will not be able to screw them in. Besides, leaving it face down provides you with more torque for putting in the screws, and won't damage the joints if you wobble it a lot screwing them in while the unit is standing upright. The wood puts off a slight chemical smell, as most furniture does, but it went away in 24 hours. Overall, we're pretty happy with the functionality and stability of this piece. We've bought a lot of mail-order furniture over the years, and in my opinion, this is slightly better quality with about the same affordability. Plus you can get it at your local store. So that's going to make a lot of folks happy.
