Depends on your hose not reel.

Will this hold 200’ of 5/8” or 3/4” hose? Thank you

Answer

Hi MrNick, Yes, as advertised, this hose reel will hold 200 ft of 3/4" hose and store it neatly and leak free. It is very sturdy and withstands rust better than ones I've used previously. Good product.

Does this handle heavy duty contractor hoses well?

I use 3/4 inch hose and more than 200 feet would fit on the reel!

Can i use this with 5/8” hose?

Answer

Hi Sneaky, Yes, you can use a 5/8" inch hose and that is what I have on mine with no problems. I only have 150' on mine so I have plenty of room to add more. Just make sure your fittings are for standard hose connections (household) and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.

Hi Jawsfree, I think your question may have been directed to another product because this a a hose reel, which has no ability to generate heat or cold for that matter. Please, check your reference and submit your question again.

I looked around for tech specs online at Suncast Commercial without avail. They don't even seem to admit having that model number in their catalog, let alone parts. I would simply take the nut you have to the hardware store where they can measure it and sell you another just like it.

The "reduced flow" caused by a few inches of 5/8 vs 3/4 tubing, if any, will be negligible. For instance, the loss in PSI for 3/4 pipe running at 10 GPM would be about 9 psi for 100 feet, or 0.09 psi per foot. Even if 5/8 had TRIPLE the loss (with 12% smaller diameter), it would still be under 0.5 psi per foot. Hope that helps.

Good design, built strong. Highly recommend.
I live in the country and frequently use long garden hoses to water. I've owned several different reels. Really really really like the Suncast reel. Pros: - Low center of gravity and wide stance so it doesn't tip over when reeling in or out. Tipping over has been a problem with every other cart reel I've owned. - Sturdy oversized tube construction, quality coating. - Solid foam grips on the handles. - Back handle is tall so you don't have to bend over when rolling the cart. Front handle is sturdy and high enough to lean on when reeling in, which helps stabilize the reel and saves your back! - Hose guide REALLY WORKS - slides back and forth easily making it MUCH easier to wind the hose evenly on the reel without getting your hands / gloves muddy. - No-flat tires are suspended off the ground when the cart is stationary, which prevents the tires from deforming when not in use (... a common problem with no-flat tires). - Assembly instructions were clear. Takes a little while, but the process is straightforward. Easy for one person with simple tools. Cons: - Was missing one plastic washer. Otherwise had all the parts. - On my unit, the hub wobbles a bit, which causes a plastic part on the hub-end to flex with each rotation. Eventually this part may fail from repeated flexing. Might be able to correct the wobble by tuning / tweaking the assembly, but I haven't tried very hard to fix it yet. We'll see.

This is a heavy duty hose real. Finally!! After several plastic Suncast versions (still have some in service) I found this very well made heavy duty reel. We live on an acreage and my wife is a Master Gardener. We use the new reel as our main hose reel and have older plastic reels as "substations" adjacent to the several gardens my wife maintains. This one works great! The framework is heavy and well made, and the long handle give plenty of leverage to wind up the hose. The wheels are great as we store this reel in our heated detached garage when the weather turns cold. Great tool. Should last many years.

Possibly the best hose reel I've seen, in terms of solid construction and ease of use. Takes a little while to put together, but not difficult at all. A Stanley FatMax 100' rolls up on here easily (I did roll it up pressurized so it wouldn't be too tight for the next use if not all the hose is extended). The leader hose is complete crap - too short, leaked on both ends. I replaced it with a 10' Flexzilla. Would have used the FatMax leader hose but they don't offer one of 6-10' length. Solid rubber wheels are a plus, and we leave this parked on the side of our house, so we'll see how it holds up to the high desert summer.

Overall pleased with product. Tube frame is very thick. All metal construction with nice welds. Except the mounts for the rotating drum. They are made from a plastic and bolt to the frame. My concern with them would be cracking and breaking from heat exposure. But the benefit is they won't rust either ensuring smooth operation. I loaded a 100 ft hose and it rolls up nicely. Plenty of room for more. I pulled the hose out across the yard and the cart stayed stationary. Very nice. Like the hard rubber tires. Look like the pneumatic ones. No flat issues. Reason for -1 star was for quality. Instructions manual easy to follow. Mine had all the bolts installed in each piece, not in bags. Overall, easy to assemble. However, 1 quality issue. 1 of the inner tubes was missing the predrilled hole to bolt the 2 tubes together. I was able to mark the hole and drill with a 1/4 inch bit and hand drill. A shot of paint to help fight rust and it went together fine. Wife is very happy with it and use too.

Sturdy and stout and way better than plastic stuff of old. Great tires to roll around, no air needed, assembly is okay, just need to make sure you pay attention to the instructions as I had to have some parts disassembled and re-assembled to match holes up. It looks like the welds seem adequate, I hope. Otherwise, it looks like it ought to be easier to reel in the hose with less effort. I already have 75 feet on and it was easy to move around. Wish they made them all professional grade.

This hose reel solves a major problem for me- how to organize the hoses that I use to water ornamental plants spread over 30 acres of desert. Now one hose does the job of many since it can easily be moved from place to place. The hose reel comes unassembled but the clear instructions with illustrations makes the job easy. The cart holds up to 200 feet of hose keeping it tidy. The sturdy handle allows me to reel in the hose in seconds without tangles. The sliding gate is operated with one hand while the other hand turns the reel handle. The gate enables me to wind the hose neatly on the drum. The hose pulls out just as easily. Even without draining the water out of the hose, the cart is easy to move, even over rough ground thanks to the large wheels. The tires are solid, so I do not have to worry about punctures from the spiny desert vegetation that punctures small pneumatic tires.

I haven’t got a hose reel until this one. The ones before were all broken somehow in the first year of use. This is a commercial duty hose reel. The pipe construction well made, the reel system, frame and solid rubber wheels are as well. It was easy to put together. It is easy to move around/transport where needed with the soft grip handles. I have several hundred feet of garden hose running my irrigation on the garden and orchard. This has made for easy roll up with the crank handle, spool it as needed, transport and roll back out. I think I need another one of these.

Super heavy duty this thing is built for work. It took me about an hour to assemble with a few minor glitches. Very lucky that the company saw fit to make this with all the hardware inserted in the proper place because when it arrived the delivery box had a hole in it. All the necessary hardware was included and safe so that was a huge plus. I wanted this because i live in a cold but dry area where i have to water orchard trees at least once a month through the winter and draining those hoses is a real pain in the cold, but it has to be done. In the summer i run at least 500 ft of hose so this will help with a good bit of that as well as the winter watering Since it is so well built and all metal i will have no cracked plastic to deal with pulling it in and out of the barn. I think we will need a second unit in the spring! Yes, this pic is in my kitchen where i assembled it, it was to darn cold out for this old lady to work outside today.
