Excellent pump for flushing a hot water heater
I purchased this product to flush my tankless hot water heater annually. To use it for this purpose, buy a set of washer hoses, connect a hose to the pump nozzle and the other end to the hot water heater cold water service input valve. Place the pump in a 5 gallon bucket of white vinegar. Connect the second hose to the hot water heater hot output service valve and the other end loose into the 5 gallon bucket. Verify with Youtube videos you have the correct setup before starting the process.

This pump did what I needed it to do. I submerged it into water I didn’t want to even touch, plugged it in, and it drained my pool/swamp of about 40k gallons without stopping. It had to pump water/pool sludge up from the deep end of the pool “8-10ft” and down a 300ft. hose. I cleaned it out, drained and stored it for next time. Job well done!

Used the pump with 5 gallon Homer bucket , two wading machine hoses and a GFCI adapter to flush and clean our on demand water heater (a Navien). Used with white vinegar and worked well. By piecing together this “kit” saved over 40% compared to buying a ready assembled kit, and for about $100- much less than what local Plumber/HVAC charges. Easy to do, with great how-to demos on youtube. Flush pump out with clean water at end , and store it all in the bucket ready for the next clean out! Only gave it a 4 because ad and documents should more strongly emphasize need to use a GFCI for safety.

I bought this pump for a water feature. I set in in a 169 gallon, galvanized, oval cattle water trough. The water is pumped up to my gutter through a garden hose remnant and then flows to downspout which I replaced with 3 inch pvc pipe which I attached horizontally to house. The water shoots out end of pvc into trough and when pump is plugged in it simply circulates. I think it's cool. I sit in garage just a few feet from trough and enjoy the sound and looks of the flowing water.

A good pump for small projects
This is a perfect pump for smaller projects. I use this for draining small spas. I also use it for descaling my tankless water heater.
The 10 foot cord (really 9.5 feet) is plenty long for small pumping projects and you can clean the bottom screen by removing 3 stainless steel screws. It includes a carry handle, and an anti-airlock hole.
It has the garden hose adapter so you just connect the hose and go. I used it on a 100 foot hose and it worked fine. It also allows up to 1-1/4 NPT discharge.
For medium or large projects, step up to the 1/2 HP. Also I find that anything over 6 foot deep, you lose a lot of pumping performance, so for deeper waters, go to the 1/2 HP.
