Hello MDW, Thank you for contacting us. Yes, our walls can be trimmed using a carbide blade. Should you have any other questions, feel free to contact us.
John, thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, I do not know the specifications of another company's product to deem it compatible. The specifications are available on this Home Depot page for our product, and may be compared with theirs!
This trim is roughly 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch deep, in other words, its meant to fit over surround material of near that thickness. My surround was very thin, so the trim fit over the edge but it slanted in a bit creating small gaps at the corners. I was able to caulk these and it looks good. The kit came with 4 pieces of 74"X3 3/4" side trim and one 74" long corner trim, there was plenty to fit around my 72" tallX34"deepX60"wide tub/shower.
Maxie, it'll be close, but I think it should make it. The kit comes with 4- 74" X3 3/4 " pieces and two 74" corner trim pieces. So one piece can be cut in half for your 36" sides, you may not have enough length to miter your corners though. I just bought corner medallions for door trim and used them instead of messing with mitered corners and it looks great.
