Product Overview

A pond begins with the liner, so we developed a lightweight liner that is ultra-durable and easier to handle. Our 13 ft. x 20 ft. pond skins Liner is ideal for small ponds. Our engineers designed a liner that weighs 30% less than ordinary 20 mil PVC but is just as strong and flexible. The black liner merges into the pond environment to create a more natural look. Our pond skins Pond Liners are 14.5 mil thick and reinforced with a strong polyester weave placed between the layers of PVC for extra durability. TotalPond's pond skins pond liners have a textured surface to promote positive bacteria growth providing just the right foundation for an environmentally balanced habitat. Our PVC Liners are available in two additional sizes to suit your needs. Our liners are also environmentally safe and non-toxic. Build a healthy foundation for your backyard pond with TotalPond's pond skins Pond Liners.

I would imagine that any coating will eventually lift due to being submerged. Just use a white pond liner.

Hi, For our PVC liners 13 ft. x 20 ft. is the maximum size; however, we do sell larger EPDM liners. The largest EPDM liner size being 20 ft. x 25 ft. The 45-mil EPDM Pond Liner is extremely durable and UV-resistant. Although this material is tough, it will not be puncture or tear proof from bear claws or moose hooves. I would suggest a hard shell for that application. Otherwise, if you dont not have critters making contact with the bottom or sides, this is a fantastic, very durable liner.

I'm making a pond of 6' long by 4' wide and 3' deep will this liner work?

This size pond liner should work. But, there are many sites on line that will provide you with the formula to confirm this liner will work. There might be a variation in size needed from site to site and the formula used, but all will work. Good luck.

Does the shinny side go up or down?

The shiny side goes down. This promotes good bacterial growth on the "up" surface as it is slightly more textured.

how do I figure out what size to buy? My pond is 14x 14 and about 5 ft deep

Measure the width along the bottom, then the height from the bottom to the top (horizontal surface above the water level) times 2, next the width of the horizontal surface itself (such as a rock shelf, or bricks), also times 2. So if the bottom width is 14 feet wide, height 5 feet (X2 is 10), shelf 2 feet (X2 is 4 feet). You therefore need a sheet with a width of 28 feet. I would suggest a couple feet extra in case you made a mistake. Do the same for the length. Length + height (X2) + shelf (X2). this will give the length of your sheet. Always get one bigger than your estimate, you can always trim to fit.

I just installed this for my pond, put rocks around it and filled it up and as soon as it's full and I start the pump system it works fine and an hour later the liner is on top of the pond and most of the water is gone. My guess is this had a hole in it and all my hard work is for nothing.

Response from TotalPond TeamSeptember 10, 2020
Hello. We're sorry to hear you've experienced this issue. Sounds like water got under the liner. Water inside the pond liner cannot stand up against the pressurized water coming from under it, and the liner will move causing this issue. This product is also covered by an included 20 year limited warranty. Please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-888-412-6001, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM to 6 PM ET, so we can gather more information and better assist you. We hope you will give us the opportunity to help! total-pond

The pond liner is a great size. It was very easy to work with. We used it to cover concrete bags for a retaining wall in our pond. Although after a few months of being installed there were a few edges left out in the open (due to us not finishing our project). When we got back to finish adding rocks to the edges the liner had been torn & seamed to have a little dry rot. The portions that were covered are all doing great.

Awesome Purchase!
I used this pond liner on my mobile roof. I had been trying to stop leaking for a year by myself. I tried plastic roof tar stuff, shingles... I had 7 rooms leaking over the winter. Then I thought of using pond liners! Water proof, 3 ply pvc, durable and strong. I installed on half my roof so far, am waiting for more liners. It has rained a couple days and No leaks at all where I installed! You will need the Liner Tape as well if doing more than one liner. But I recommend getting that in store, it is cheaper in store. Do get it good and flat but not tight, leave some give in it for snow and ice weight or pulling. Otherwise it could rip at the screws around the edge and tear. I also recommend getting a pack of Liner Patches to have on hand just in case or to use around vent pipes.

As I am in my late 50's, I must say this liner was very easy to spread. My husband and I made a pond in our back yard. It holds the water terrifically, was easy to install and stays fairly clean with the other water products purchased in our local Home Depot garden center.

Decided to upgrade my pond with new liner. Used stone mold for new edging and it was super easy with a quikcrete walkway mold using 50 lb bags of quikcrete mix for each section. For a hand dug pond it is coming out nice. Still have to build a waterfall yet but I am super happy with the new liner!
