Hello, for selecting a pump for your waterfall, you will also need to know the opening width of the waterfall to determine the best pump. With this setup, we would recommend the 1,200 GPH pump for a 12 in. width or smaller. This pump would be better suited for a waterfall width larger than 12 in. We hope this helps.

Will this pump work with lake water or does it require clear/clean water only?

Hi, The 2,000-GPH Waterfall Pump is designed to pass large debris for optimal performance and minimized maintenance. The pump comes with a mesh protective barrier bag, which encloses your pump to keep out large debris. Placing this pump in a lake would require routine maintenance cleanings to ensure your pump, and water feature are running properly, and are cleared of any obstructions. We hope this helps.

How many GPH I should get?I have a 750g pond w/2 koi&waterfall. current pump uses 1 1/4hose can I just switch out pumps?

We currently use a 1500gph pump that moves the water to a filter. The filter then releases the water into the waterfall. One pump fills both purposes. I'd like some guidance on how I can still have just one pump.

I had two of these pumps. Both times, they only last for 12 months, when running them 24x7x365 a year! I have a waterfall/pound in my backyard, and I love the sound of running water, so the pump stays on all the time. I'd give the pump a 5 star ratting if it would last at least two years! NOPE! Each time I purchased my pump, I purchased it from Home Depot! Yes, I'm looking for a better pump that will last two years running 24x7x365!

This pump is light and powerful. The power cord is stout and long enough to easily reach the outlet I have. I'm using the pump in a small pond and have about a five foot rise to a cascading water feature. I'm using 1 1/4 plastic tubing. The flow is better than I expected. Based on the flow and how quiet the pump is I'm giving it a five star review. I've only had the pump for a week so I can't speak for its longevity.

Response from TotalPond TeamOctober 13, 2020
Hello. We are sorry to hear about your experience! We recommend proving routine maintenance to the pump so it wont malfunction. You will remove the front screen, twist off impeller housing, pull out impeller assembly, make sure all 3 parts are clean and not damaged, run warm water in the hole the impeller was sitting in for about 30-45 seconds, put the pump back together, then submerge in water and plug into an outlet to see if it’s working. This product is covered by an included 2 year limited warranty. If the problem continues, we ask that you call in, so we can gather information for warranty purpose. Please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-888-412-6001, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM to 6 PM ET. We hope you give us the opportunity to help resolve this issue. total-pond
