Total Fountain Pump 70 GPH is Actually 65 GPH
The 70 GPH Small Total Fountain Pump # 52213, per HD web site, is actually an X-Small 65 GPH Pump per Packaging. It is the 4th replacement for my small fountain purchased in 2001. My last pump lasted 8-10 years. A lot to live up to. This pump's lift height is 1.5 ft, 5 watts/0.06 amps. My last pump had a more powerful lift and was 120v 60 Hz 0.05 amps. Lift height from bottom to head of my fountain is 22". At 2 days pump is quiet with a grounded plug & adequate fall @ highest flow. Cat is happy!

I repaired an old rain lamp using this pump. Voided the warranty as soon as I cut the wires and hard wired it to the lamp. Filled it with oil and it works PERFECTLY!

Addendum: Loose impeller. Not reliable.
Unreliable product.
As previously reviewed, my pump started screeching soon.
Inspection shows the impeller moved out of alignment, pushed against other plastic parts and wore down.
Replacing takes time and effort. Fountain dis-/reassembly costs extra.

Problem pump? Screeching noise, practically new.
Ran a few hours, 60cm elevation; less than 6 months old; indoors, filtered water; looks new.
Now when turned on it screeches super loud; randomly stops the noise a short while, then the siren's on again.
Broke so soon? De-/reinstallation will cost me...

I purchased this little pump to make a small water feature for my patio. It's on the bottom of a galvanized steel tub that's about 10" deep with 9" of water, and it is powerful enough to keep the surface at a nice ripple, which is what I wanted to keep the mosquitoes away. If I wanted more of a fountain, I could put a hose on it or lift it off the bottom, but for me it's just right the way it is.
It's been running 27/7 for about a week now, and I'm very happy with it.
