Q:I used part of the can to seal a small fountain last year. I had to take it apart for the winter and I was going to reuse it again but the contents is not coming out. Is there any way to open it up again properly?

Q:Once I cut and sand the foam after it has cured for 48 hours, will the cut pieces remain fully waterproof?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Andrew. The Totalpond Foam sealant will remain waterproof after it's cured. Below you will find the instruction. This product is extremely flammable during dispensing. Read cautions carefully. · Wear protective glasses or goggles, nitrile gloves and clothing that protects against exposure to the skin. Use only in well ventilated areas. · Optimum temperature for use is between 65-85° F (18-27° C). Clean dust, grease and oil off surfaces to be foamed. Cover surrounding surfaces. · Shake well. Screw nozzle adapter onto valve stem, being careful not to activate valve. · With valve end of can down, slowly press trigger to dispense foam. Test on an experimental surface. · Fill cavity only 1/3 full with foam to allow for expansion. For cavities greater than 3 in. (75 mm) diameter, moisten substrate before applying. · Dries tack-free in approximately 5 minutes, cuttable within 1 hour, cures in 12-24 hours. Do not disturb uncured foam. · Uncured foam may be removed with acetone. Cured foam must be removed mechanically. Cured foam can be trimmed or sanded. Cured foam exposed to sunlight must be covered with paint or stain. · Store upright in dry area. Leave nozzle on can. To reuse, cut 1 in. (3 cm) off nozzle tip We hope this helps. Your TotalPond Water Gardening Specialist, Natalie.

So far it’s working like a charm. Definitely apply only a little at a time as it will expand a great deal and emerging from any crack or hole that you fill

Total Pond Waterfall Foam Sealant really delivers. I used this product for a small water feature. It filled the cracks, maybe a little better than I had planned as it really oozed out. If this happens to you, wait for the foam to begin to set up and then (wearing nitrile gloves) push the excess into the voids you are filling. You can also wait for it to set up then cut the excess off. The only problem I had with the product was the trigger on the application straw broke (both cans) but you can just press the nozzle at an angle and the foam will come out nicely. Just be sure to wear gloves and you will find Total Pond Waterfall Foam Sealant will work for you.

          Still waterproof after SEVEN years
I built a waterfall 7 years ago using this produce and a prayer. The foam held for and is still holding. I am re working the waterfalls due to rock breaking down from the flow of water. I purchased this product again to use. **Note: make a pillow of the foam then set the rock.** The best is it is fish safe.

It works very well, but for some reason all the contents would not spray out of the can. It is also rather pricy.

The foam in the plastic tube had to be cleaned out multiple times for it to work properly. Not at all easy to use.
