            I've used tapcon screws many times before and as always, they exceed my expectations. In this project I used the tapcon screws to hang two garden hose hangers on concrete block walls. I did need to add washers because the pre-installed holes in the garden hose hangers were slightly larger than the heads of the tapcon screws. I used a 3/16 inch tapcon screw drill that I already had and because of the great thread engagement of the tapcon screws, I was finished in about 10 minutes.

            Strong hold don’t use included drill bit
            I used these 3/16 by 1 1/4 to secure metal drip guards over my exposed windows, into 70 year old heavy texture stucco. So far I’ve used 30 screws, all are I strong as heck, but don’t use the included drill bit. Step down your bit by one size, the included drill bit will not allow the tapcon to grip. I tested my drilling into extra brick, even switched hammer drills to the same result. Very frustrating when drilling into your home. I read reviews to see a lot had the same issue.

              My outside window shutters came loose on the front of our home. I bought a carbide tip drill and made a few pilot holes into the brick front. Tan the Tap Con screws in and they are secure. I have had previous experience with Tap Con products securing plywood for hurricane protection. Still a great product for securing to masonry walls.
