Can I use these to attach a 25 foot tall flag pole to a concrete block building?

Asked by Steve March 17, 2018

Answers

yes you can bolt into the cement block , are these bolting into brackets along the side or a flange on the bottom . A 25 ft pole requires a lot of support , Hopefully you will be using numerous 3/8 or larger bolts that are threaded at least 3.0 into concreate, and in 3 sections parallel to the building . . The 25 ft pole probably has at least a 5ft flag -- this probably should be sunk into over 4 ft deep concrete in the ground and over 1 ft diameter .

Drilled 3/16 pilot hole in all locations then opened them to 3/8 with a Bosch masonry drill and my 20 yr old DeWalt hammer drill. Drive the Tapcons in with a 1/2" Impact wrench. Went in smooth. Was carefull not to overdrive these screws. Couldn't be better.

Works great, drilled a 3/8" hole in concrete with a hammer drill and screwed it in with a 18 volt 1/4" impact. Done!!! I used them to secure my wooden steps mounted on a concrete retaining wall. Big time saver.

Great Product
Used these to fasten a 2x8 ledger for a deck to some hollow and some filled concrete block. I was a bit skeptical at first but they all gripped the block securely and the washer head countersunk nicely into the wood. Far better luck with these than i typically have with redhead sleeve anchors. Will be using these on my low level deck projects in the future.

incomplete box of 10
we purchased a box of 10, but only 6 were in there. This was during the lock-down, so we had to place another order for another box of 10. Now we have too many, but my contractor couldn't find the original box for us to return. HD should never sell us USED or OPENED boxes. Or check your inventory before sending them to the curb. So disappointed
