Buy something else
Bought these because the smaller ones would twist off every time. These twist off every time too. I’m drilling the appropriate diameter hole at least a half inch deeper than the screw is long. I tried reeming out the hole too but didn’t make a difference. As soon as the threads catch, these screws shear off. I switched to the hammer-in expansion anchors and those produced a solid anchoring effect. Was putting these in old concrete floor from 1975, trying to anchor base plate for a wall.

Solid!
Very easy to install after drilling with proper masonry bit to secure the 4x4 tie. Hasn't budged and is working well.

Worked great securing my pergola hardware to our concrete pad....

I'm apparently so manly...
That I can sheer cement anchors with my bare hands! Hulk smash. How the heck am I gonna get these out? This should be real fun. Pure garbage. All sheered at same spot. 3/8 are good...somehow 16th of an inch makes all the difference.

Drilled 3/16 pilot hole in all locations then opened them to 3/8 with a Bosch masonry drill and my 20 yr old DeWalt hammer drill. Drive the Tapcons in with a 1/2" Impact wrench. Went in smooth. Was carefull not to overdrive these screws. Couldn't be better.
