Product Details

The Tectite by Apollo Ice Maker Outlet Box includes a 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect ice maker valve and can be used to connect copper, CPVC or PEX lines. Tectite by Apollo Push-to-Connect fittings are the fastest, cleanest, and simplest way to connect copper, CPVC, PE-RT and PEX pipe without the use of tools, solder, open flame or glue. Simply insert the pipe to allow the high-strength stainless steel teeth to grip the pipe securely against the specially designed O-ring. Fitting removal and reuse is just as simple using a simple demount clip (sold separately).
  • Valves constructed of lead free dezincification resistant (DZR) brass for superior reliability and strength
  • 1/4 in. O.D. male compression outlet
  • Box design allows for right or left stud mounting
  • Snap in place faceplate allows for up to 3/4 in. drywall
  • Push-to-connect design allows for a simple and fast installation on any combination of copper, PEX, CPVC or PE-RT pipe

    A:  Yes. The Push-to-Connect cap can be unscrewed from the threads at the bottom of the valve. You can then connect a 1/2 in. Female Adapter in its place. Be sure to use Plumber's or Teflon Tape on the threads.

      A:  Yes. The 1/4” soft copper will fit on the outlet of the valve using the compression nut and ferrule.

        A:  Yes I would use a tube liner for PEX. My unit had the tube liner inside the filling. You should easily see if because it’s the diameter of the inside of the inside diameter of the PEX.

        I used this to modify my exiting ice outlet to the other side of the wall. Unless it is a new install and perfectly aligned, you may need another cover to cover it but it was not a big deal. More important that the push on connection did not leak. It also comes with removal plastic tool (ring). You can nail to left stud (if you can because of space) or you can use the right plastic piece to screw it under the drywall.
