Product Details

The 1/2 in. x 1/2 in. x 1/2 in. Tectite by Apollo Push-To-Connect Tee is the fastest, cleanest and simplest way to join any combination of copper, CPVC, PE-RT and PEX pipe without the use of tools, solder, open flame or glue. Simply insert the pipe to allow the high-strength stainless steel teeth to grip the pipe securely against the specially designed O-ring. Fitting removal and reuse is just as simple using a simple demount clip (sold separately). After assembly, fittings may be rotated for simpler installation in tight spaces. All Tectite by Apollo fittings are approved for use in both potable water and hydronic heating piping systems.

Q:will this work for polybutylene?

A:  No, this fitting is not for use with Polybutylene pipe. We do offer a 3/4 in. CTS x Polybutylene coupling though. Consider using: Tectite 3/4 in. Brass Push-to-Connect Polybutylene Conversion Coupling, Model #FSBPBC34, Internet #301410204, Store SKU #1002429547.

      A:  These push-to-connect fittings are meant for use with copper, PEX, and CPVC. The measurements on the fittings are based on the CTS (copper tube size) standard, which is the measurement standard for those three piping systems. For this fitting in particular, a 1/4" tube will not work--it requires 3/8" CTS pipe which comes in copper, PEX, or CPVC. Fittings that have three ports will have three measurements listed for them. If you orient the tee fitting like the letter 'T' the three sizes correspond to the left, right, then bottom ports respectively.         A:  If you are using any pipe other than Copper, CPVC, or PEX, it is not compatible with these fittings. The pipe will also be able to rotate once inserted into the fitting--this does not compromise the seal. As long as you use one of the three types of piping above and you push it fully into the fitting, you should not experience any issues with the seal. The body of the union cracked and broke off at the connection point. See pictures! You are not saving money over the shark brand when you have to do the job twice!

            Great Product, Home Depot customer service SUCKS
            Sharkbite products are an awesome plumbing solution! Home Depots customer service SUCKS! We live on an island so every need necessitates a 1/2 day trip to the mainland. Our contractor purchased multiple Sharkbite products to avoid making time consuming trips to Home Depot for parts. I reimbursed him for everything he purchased. Upon completion, I took the unused, unopened Shark Bites to Home Depot to return. Unfortunately, I did not have my contractors receipts. I went thru 2 store employees, a store manager and 2 Corporate representatives on the phone. Home Depots policy is no returns or refunds with no receipt. This is administered by a third party that just says transaction denied. Apparently no one at Home Depot has any authority to make a decision over a third party vendor. I now have a bag of Shark Bite fittings worth over a $100 that are useless to me.
