1/2 in. x 100 ft. PEX Tubing Oxygen Barrier Radiant Heating Pipe in Red used to distinguish hot water lines from cold water lines. Attached photograph is where we used the red PEX to install a pot filler on a new remodel. The red PEX loop sticking out of the drywall is for the emergency shutoff that will be located in the cabinet below the cooktop. It supplies the upper steel nipple during the construction and through competition until the pot filler is mounted. The lower steel nipple in photograph is for the gas cooktop supply. Your local Home Depot store has all the fittings, crimp sleeves and crimping tools necessary to install this pipe. Look for it in the plumbing section. Cuts easily with a NON spring-loaded PVC cutter. Typically used with plastic barbed fittings and steel collar with need clamping tool, again available at your the local Home depot store. This pipe is made for interior installations ONLY, it is not exterior use or ultraviolet resistant.

Danger: Do not buy this product - it is inferior manufacture. It will make you pull your hair out during installation. Instead buy the tubing that HD sells from their shelves.

Some of the other reviews said this PEX was kind of stiff and difficult to work with but I did not have any issues making runs that were spaced at about 8". As long as you feed it off the roll carefully you shouldn't have problems. It seems like it will be a great product for my radiant floor heat.

Good quality PEX tubing for radiant heating usage - in other words, there is a coating on the outside which keeps oxygen from getting inside the water and causing corrosion of the heating system. This tubing is a bit stiff, but all the PEX tubing I have used is somewhat stiff. For my installation, it seems to work just fine, with no leaks or other problems.
