Q:What pipe is supposed to be used for the fill piping and vent piping for a steel oil tank to feed my boiler. I'm installing a second larger tank in my cellar. The fill and vent piping for the current tank appears to be slightly less than 2" outside dia.

The quality on this 1-1/2 inches X 48 inches black steel metal pipe is much better than I expected. I like how they provided proper protection on the threads, so the pipe arrived with the threads still in great condition. The thickness of the metal pipe is very good for the project I needed the pipe. It works great with using the pipe around the house such as adding extra leverage to the bar breaker when loosening bolts and nuts or when needed to bend metals and other small pipes.

Ideal for Pony 1/2 npt clamps
I recently purchased a pair of Southland 1/2 x 48 black pipes that are stocked in the store for use with Pony pipe clamp set. Unfortunately, I had to return them and order these, which are less expensive anyway. Whereas the Southland appear to have a rubber-like coating and will not allow the sliding clamp to install to any degree at all, these pipes fit PERFECTLY! Would highly recommend for use with Pony 1/2 NPT clamp set. Specs show Southland to be standard .84 OD and these to be .82 OD.
