We are upgrading a basement room that is unfinished. The plumber asked me to check out some products for future water connections. Stub out elbows are primarily used when installing PEX pipe to stub out of the wall and allow for further connection of outlet stop valves and plumbing fixtures. Stub out elbows with ears can be nailed to a wooden surface, such as a stud. That is the one here that I am reviewing.

There are always those parts and components that just make life a little easier. This is one of those parts. It's solid and it mounts very quickly. I used it to add a hose bib on a pilaster we built for a backyard pool. Just being able to mount the copper on the spot and not have to monkey with supporting it, what a nice and efficient way to go. I am ordering twenty half inch stub outs for sinks in a remodel I am doing. This 3/4" inch one is heavy duty. It's going to last until the apocolypse, whcih means no call backs. If you need to get it done right the first time, this is the way to go.

We are upgrading a basement room that is unfinished. The plumber asked me to check out some products for future water connections. Stub out elbows are primarily used when installing PEX pipe to stub out of the wall and allow for further connection of outlet stop valves and plumbing fixtures. Stub out elbows with ears can be nailed to a wooden surface, such as a stud. That is the one here that I am reviewing.
We wound up not needing this size but it functions just like the 1/2 inch version. It is easy to attach to the stud on the inside.

Decent product here given the nature of what it is. Application is specific and using the correct Pex fitting for securing the stub out to your supply is critical for having a tight seal. The flange is as useful as the framing in your install area will allow, meaning if there is not a stud close enough to where you are installing this stub-out then the flange will serve no purpose. I have had situation where placement of the supply lines is critical to the final install of the finish trims which means the flange can become irrelevant. Flange is a bit flimsier than some other like products I have used in the past but certainly strong enough to serve its purpose. Nice thing about these stub outs is the ability to pressure test the system prior to installing the shut-off valves or finish trims.
