I bought the smaller 5000 BTU unit and it was pretty quite then I replaced it with the 6000 BTU because I didn't want to over work the smaller unit. The 6000 BTU is louder however I will live with whatever it takes to get the job done. When the A/C cycles it doesn't make much noise, I sleep with it on every night with no problem.
Its got a 54 decibel rating on low. thats higher than the GEs and LGs models that have a 50 decibel rating on LOW. GE and LG are much better models than this Toshiba.; and can be ordered at Home Depot. Thats just my personal experience and suggestion. Regards, lawrence PRO
I believe the lowest setting is 62 degrees, not sure about the high setting however I am sure it is plenty high. I set the temperature at 72 auto and it usually keeps the bedroom between 75 and 77. You have to set the thermostat to whatever it takes to get the temperature you want, no big deal.
horizontal windows go up and down . vertical windows are sliding left to right so answer is yes on horizontal and no on sliding
No. It's small and light enough not to require one but some high rise building may require you to have one anyway.
In econo mode when compressor shuts off the fan shuts off also.
It has an ECO setting that automatically turns the A/C off and on occasionally and keeps the temperature steady. However it is not an Energy Star rated A/C. It doesn't seem to be an energy hog though.
Absolutely not.
