Hey there, thanks for your question. The Pro 22 model uses a Pro AGL grill controller. AGL stands for Advanced Grilling Logic, which results in more precise temperature control. While it is not compatible with WiFi, if you’re interested in a Pro Series model with WiFire technology, we recommend you check out the Pro 575 which is really similar to this grill you’re checking out, or the Pro 780 if looking for a larger grilling area with the same great features. We hope you find this information helpful, but if further assistance is needed give us a call at 1-800-TRAEGER.
Hi, and thank you for your interest in the Pro 22. Currently, the only Traeger that uses propane is the Flatrock Griddle. All of our other models are pellet grills, which use electricity to run the different components, and pellets to cook/smoke the food. As long as you have access to a power outlet, and quality wood pellets in the hopper, you’ll just set the temperature, and the Pro 22 will do the rest.
Hi, and thank you for your interest in the Pro 22. All pellet smokers cook with indirect heat (convection), and the flame from the woodfire never makes contact with anything on the grates. However, there are ways to get a sear on meats and other foods, if that's why you're asking, by doing what is referred to as a reverse sear. As opposed to normal searing, a reverse sear is done at the end of the cook, either by placing food directly on the grates after the grill is set to and reaches its highest temperature, or on a cast iron pan/skillet that been heated up inside of the grill. There are more details on this process available at traeger.com/learn/reverse-searing, which will provide step-by-step instructions for both methods.
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Assembly is not included but above the add to cart button, you will see a box that says, "Add In-Home Assembly". That will reflect the assembly cost in your area. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
Hi, and thanks for your question on the Pro 34. There are a few things that you can check if the grill is running cool, but the first one should always be the pellets. A quick test is breaking a couple between your fingers to see if they snap cleanly in half with a little bit of effort, or just crumble easily, in which case they will need to be replaced. You'll also want to look in the bottom of the hopper to see how much wood dust has accumulated. This is often overlooked, but can have a big effect on the pellet flow through the auger. Another possible cause is the height of the chimney cap, which should always have a ¾” gap from the bottom rim to the top of the smokestack. And while you've likely already considered maintenance, don’t forget to clean the RTD probe (7” rod on the left interior of the barrel) with a wet paper towel or sponge. Although this covers more common causes, there can be others, but there is no need to call a repairman or try to keep figuring it out on your own. Even if the grill is long past its warranty period, you can always contact Traeger Customer Service for assistance. If you’ve already verified everything discussed here, or you would prefer having help doing it, please reach out to us at 1-800-TRAEGER before 10:00 PM MT, any day of the year.
