Great Steel Rake!
I got this TruTemper rake because I absolutely love the feel of a steel tines rake! I have 2 other rakes, another steel one and a plastic one. The plastic one is 25-26" wide, which is wider than the TruTemper"s (and my other steel rake's) 20". But for some reason, I rake faster and better with the steel rakes. They simply 'feel' better on the lawn when pulling. towards me. And I'm able to rake leaves and grass into bigger piles because of the sturdiness of the steel tines. My other steel rake has some plastic on it - where the tines connect, it's all plastic. The TruTemper rake is all steel except for the wooden handle. That's another great feature...the TrueTemper rake has the rubber top grip and rubber in the middle section for better grip. Because of the extra thickness, the rake just feels better in your hands. And don't let the 3-piece modular sections fool you. Once I assembled the rake (it's as easy as lining up the pins and pushing them together - done), it's every bit as sturdy and solid feeling as my other steel rake! Overall I rate this rake an excellent addition to your yard tools!

Lightweight & sturdy
It's pretty straightforward: this is a nice rake. The assembly was very easy. The rake itself is lightweight and well-balanced in the hand; I particularly like that it doesn't get tiring to hold or use the rake for long periods of time. The tines are strong and they can cover a wide swath of ground very well. Raking up leaves was a breeze, even when the leaves were damp and the grass was long.

Perfect rake for me
Got this rake to replace the last steel finger rake that was down to three fingers left, yea I'm pretty hard on my tools. This one will last me a long time from what I see here. Assembly was easy, just make sure the ends are lined up correctly and tap on the ground a few times. Looks like it is going to stay together as well, I tried to pull it a part and can't get to move.

Great Rake that comes in a small box.
This is a sturdy rake that comes in a small box. I didn't realize the handle required assembly and was skeptical at first. The handle goes together pretty easily and I didn't having any problems with the handle coming apart during raking. I wouldn't plan to regular assemble and disassemble though. The rake is sold under two brands: "Ames" and "True Temper". As far as I can tell, they are identical. One is green and the other is black. I received this product for free to write this review.

First of all, I HIGHLY recommend this........
Look, bottom line first, if you are reading this review and you are shopping for a good quality, solidly built rake, this one beat my expectations. In my opinion this is a GREAT option and without hesitation, is my recommendation. Take note the 54” measurement is the handle length; the tines width is approx. 21+”. One thing I was concerned with in unpacking this was that the handle was in three pieces that slide/snap together. After putting it together I can honestly say there is NO give or movement in either joint. It is as if it was a single piece. I already have a super-wide 32” plastic leaf rake but I wanted one with sturdy metal tines, this fit that bill. These tines are sturdy, not that cheap kind that lose shape with ant pressure these maintained their shape after I abused them on some crabgrass. This thing actually is strong enough to work on thatch with. I know it’s better to use a solid metal garden rake but I wanted to really test this one. It passed with flying colors. I love this!
