So fast!
This product turns a slow messy process into a faster and less messy process. I found that the standing water had to be at least an inch deep in order for this product to remove the water. When I tried to use it on a puddle that is only about a half an inch deep, it did not work. So I tried it on a bucket of water, and it worked really fast. The Up the Hatch bucket filled very rapidly, to the level of the water in the bucket from which I was removing water. When I carried the Up the Hatch bucket away, it did drip. If I were emptying a fish tank, or something that had collected water outside, this would be a fast solution, and any drips would not matter to me. If the drips would bother you, put down some plastic between the source of the water and the place where you’re going to dump it. I have to give this product a five star rating, because it’s SO FAST, and can operate in a tight space without electricity. Well done!

Awesome little bucket for removing water in tight spaces
You never know when you will have a bit of water in a place where you can’t easily pump it or siphon it out. This little bucket will do the trick for you in those situations. It has a bottom that one plus pressed into water will release water into the bucket. When you lift the bucket the bottom will hold the water in place. I experimented with it in my water barrel and it does exactly what it promises. The water goes in quickly and remains in the bucket when you pull it from the water source for disposal. It’s one of those gadgets that you wish you had thought of your self.

Magic bucket
My first impression of this bucket was what a waste of a good bucket, but after playing with the thing I realized it could be helpful in some scenarios. It as amazing how the flap on the bottom keeps all the water in the bucket. I would have use this bucket for irrigation or sprinkler repair when the hole I was working in filled up with water and I needed to remove it in order to make the repair. This bucket could end up saving the day.

Plenty of features
The Hatch Bucket Fills from The Bottom 1 gal. size is a great tool especially when there is no pump or power, and you are in a tight space. If you have standing water the bucket will fill from the bottom with no pump or power and the seal holds the water in so you can dump and simply set it back down to refill, I must say that this is not a permanent fix but it does work when you are in a jam and or tight space.

Clever and handy
The TwistedVise Up The Hatch Bucket is a handy tool to have around if you periodically have the need to scoop or bail water. It's easier to use than scooping by hand with a cup or bowl. Just lower the bucket into the water and it fills from the bottom. Pretty genius I'd say. I used it recently to empty a water trough. It's not entirely leak proof which in my opinion really doesn't matter when you're bailing water but it does seem to do the job for which it was designed.

Innovative way to remove standing water
A very ingenious way to remove standing water. I tested the Twisted Vice Up the Hatch (in a one-gallon size bucket) on the closet standing water. As you can see in the video, this bucket does everything it claims it can do. The bucket filled in mere seconds and did not drip (after the water ran off the sides). This can easily be used as a regular bucket as well. The bottom seals well from the weight of the water. I only wish this would be offered in a quart or pint size for real tight scenarios. While I may not use this every day, cleaning up water spills when needed will certainly be useful.

seals work like design no leaks
the buckets American made in the USA . the Hatch bucket will fill semi fast as we want it to. we found when lifted up from are test pail of water . we didn't observe any water leakage from the inter seals . Hatch pail is 8 inch tall x 7 1/4 inch wide on top x 6 3/8 inch wide on the bottom . the unit will hold about 1 gallon of liquid . the pail fill at a good rate didn't time it do . we are very please with are results . the Hatch Bucket seems strong and handle is comfortable to grab. thanks to the round plastic semicircular ball on the metal handle .

Decent for what it is
So, I got this product, not fully understanding what it was. Essentially the TwistedVise Up The Hatch Bucket is a one gallon bucket with holes drilled in the bottom and a bit of rubbed secured to the bottom. As you push the bucket into the body of water it fills up and then as you pull it up the pressure from the water seals the rubber and the holes in the bottom. I figured this may be useful for clearing sump pump basins, but realistically a transfer pump or utility pump is going to be much faster.

Up the Hatch bucket
Oh my God what a brilliant invention this item is. As someone who has a home with a washing machine, four toilets and a sump pump I wish this was around years ago when I had to bail water from several of these devices due to mechanical problems such as broken pumps or badly clogged toilets. The design is simple yes ingenious. You just partially submerge the bucket and water enters from the bottom. The inside seal opens up, then seals so you can then move the liquid elsewhere.

Disappointed
I thought that the bucket could serve several purposes but it only has one and it doesn't do it as well as I hoped. Yes, when submerged into water the bucket fills from the bottom. The problem is that the bucket doesn't seal so the contents drips out of the bottom making a mess from. Also, because it doesn't seal, it's useless as a regular bucket. Unless you have a specific purpose of moving liquid from one place to another and you don't mind liquid dripping, I guess it's okay. It wasn't for me.
