Vermont Organics Raised Bed Recharge is a complete organic fertilization package.We mix OMRI-certified, Organic Coconut byproducts and other OMRI-certified Organic materials to produce this soil. Our lightweight recharge adds the needed organic matter to your raised bed without the need for heavy compost. It contains a six-month, time-released fertilizer that will charge your bed with nutrients from your earliest spring planting through the entire growing season.

How many quarts of soil will this recharge?

AnswersOne of my (no till!) gardens is about 3x20'. I spread one of these 2.8 cuft bags all over this area (about 1-1.5" depth), followed by a similar layer of (my own) compost. My garden has exploded. Worms were literally cavorting and having babies in front of me. So much more, and better, produce than any year previous. Gave a bag to my father-in-law for his anniversary; he loves it too.

Great product, goes a long way and reconditions last season soil without the need for additional additives. Mixes in well with soil and rehydrates well after mixing. If used in pots as well as elevated raised bed planters, it seems to maintain moisture levels well. Look at the pictures, it was used in all planters and pots

This looks to be exactly what I needed to help my sandy soil. I love the fact that it's environmentally friendly - coir, NOT peat. I only have 5 raised beds so I just needed a small amount of compost, not a truckload. This was light enough to order by mail, a huge bonus in these days of stay at home! I ordered one bag per 4'x8' bed which seems just about right. Time will tell but I think this was the perfect addition. I'm very happy to have found it.

meh. bag too heavy and contents too fluffy and loose, leaked as I tried carrying it, moving it from spot to spot. Hard to shovel out of bag if even faint wind. I liked getting the product in a compostable bag instead of a plastic bag, but it didn't work well for roof-top gardener! So I'll get same product in future in plastic bag.

Product goes a long way. Careful not to over buy. Mixes with existing garden soil easily, turned it over and raked it in. I'm optimistic that by Spring that the moisture retention and air the soil will be easily worked for planting. I like that the slow release fertilizer could/will help jump start new plantings. One 2CF bag more than covers a 4'x4' raised bed. Probably went a little too heavy this time around but my soil really needed some help.
