Product Details

Coconut coir bricks are composed of three different types of compressed coconut coir. This high quality, low sodium growing medium is an environmentally friendly alternative to sphagnum peat moss. When hydrated with water, CocoTek Bricks and Blocks rapidly expand which saves you time and effort. They can be exclusively used by themselves, blended together or mixed with expanded clay pellets, perlite or topsoil. The brick will break down on its own in three years. Better still, you can run it through a chipper and amend your soil with it. Incredibly strong, it makes a better candidate for use with enzyme products that convert roots to biomass.
  • Each brick makes up to 18 Gal. of ready-to-use soilless media
  • Optimum air to water ratio
  • Increases nutrient retention and provides essential aeration
  • Expands to 5 times its packaged size
  • Great for outdoor gardening
  • 100% organic coir fiber
  • Flushed of excess sodium
  • Each pallet contains two hundred twenty-two 11 lb. bricks

        Too much coco peat
This stuff is great as a peat alternative and/or soil filler, but as far as coco/nute growers go, there is better stuff out there. It's a little too peaty for coco growers, and contains a fair amount of sand. Not bad, not great.

          Excellent For Seed Starting- Veggies/Flowers
I'm a "grow most of your own plants" type of gardener with little experience in seed starting. I tried a pre bagged seed starting mix with inconsistent results. My first time using this product resulted in healthy transplants. Last year I was able to grow pounds of delicious fresh vegetables, many varieties of herbs and cut flowers that are normally not found in my local garden centers or they were too pricey to purchase. Highly recommend Viagrow Coconut Coir!

This Coconut Coir comes as a dried compacted block that requires soaking in water to expand and hydrate prior to use. This expands several times its volume, I broke off chunks and filled a 5 gallon bucket several times with this 11lb brick. This is odorless and has no bugs, so I used indoor for a terrarium and also used as a soil amendment for starting grass seed. I like that this is a renewable resource compared to peatmoss and is not acidic.

This product worked perfectly for what I needed! I purchased it as substrate for my reptiles. Buying it in bulk like this saved me a ton of money and the product is the same quality as the stuff you can get from pet stores. It took me only 5-10 minutes to expand the block (I used a garden hose and a wheelbarrow) and I was able to fill a 5.5'x3' tortoise enclosure, a 4'x2' tortoise enclosure, and a frog tank. I also had enough leftover to almost (but not quite) cover my lizard's 4'x2.5' enclosure too! I'll definitely be purchasing this product on a regular basis.

Love, love, love this product. It is saving me endless hours on my knees weeding. The block expands to a wheel barrow full of beneficial mulch. It takes about 7 gallons of water but best to add very slowly, like watering a plant, you will see the block drink it in and grow. Takes about 10-15 minutes to expand. I ordered again.
