Lawn Fertilizer for Texas Grass Types on the handheld Scott Wizz spreader is dependent on your grass. I do not have access to the actual product and cannot read the instructions on the package with the online picture. I would recommend using a lower setting for your lawn. Since this is a lower nitrogen fertilizer, you could successfully use a setting of 4 to 5.5 for applying the Vigoro Lawn Fertilizer for Texas Grass Types. A:  We do not have a setting for Vigoro Lawn Fertilizer for Texas Grass Types with the Scotts Whizz Spreader. You will need to do a 50 X 20 test area to get teh correct setting. Place enough material in the hopper to cover 1,000 sq. ft. (Usually indicated on the bag of product, if not indicated, take pounds in bag and divide by the number of thousand square feet bag covers. Example: 23lb bag covers 5,000 sq ft, divide 23 by 5 to get 4.6lbs per 1,000 sq ft). Place the spreader setting on a low setting (Usually one-fourth of the spreader setting range or less). Spread the material over a 50 x 20 ft. area (This is 1,000 sq. ft.). If material is left over, you need to increase the setting. If you come up short, you need to decrease the setting. While this is not a scientific method for getting the spreader setting, it will get you in the ballpark for their product or spreader.

A:  Vigoro Lawn Fertilizer for Texas Grass Types does not contain any herbicide.

A:  This can be used now however it does need to be watered in! So you need to be careful to see if you get rain in your area!

A:  I use it in Austin in the spring after my second cut and again in the fall.

A:  The granules have to dissolve and soak into the ground to fully release the fertilizer so I strongly suggest you water well to soak this in. Not run off soaking but a good wet down

A:  You'll want to water this in a little more than other brands like Scott. I use an empty tuna can to judge how much I've watered (about 1 inch). But the product worked great and I'll buy again for my fall fertilizing..
