Hydrophobic - water beads up on it
I bought ~1500SF of this mesh fabric to install under astroturf around a pool. I thought the mesh would be better for drainage. I sprayed water and it beads on the mesh. I checked over the next half hour and very little had passed-through - it remained beaded.
The mesh seems to be reasonably sized (about the same as screen door mesh), but it's small enough that water tension won't break through. The woven fabric might work better.

The worst weed barrier ever
I bought this a weed barrier few weeks ago to put it underneath of the bark on my front yard. I wish I went with a different brand. It is supposed to prevent weeds from growing. Yet, 2 weeks later grass penetrates it with no difficulty. So many hours and money wasted. Now need to redo it all. Do not recommend if you value your work.

No weeds yet!! Had this laid in a flower bed...
No weeds yet!! Had this laid in a flower bed that is about 23 feet on 5/14/2022. Incredibly prone to all sorts of huge weeds and ivy. The bed is layered with previous landscape and then about a 2 inch layer of rock. There was no way we could move all the rock so we tried to kill the weeds a couple of years previously and then apply a thick layer of mulch. It has been a battle ever since. We killed all the weeds and then laid the landscape on top of ALL the previous layers. It sat like that for over a week and a half....no weeds. We then re-mulched it with about a little over an inch. It's rained a bunch of times and still no weeds. Super impressed.

Didn't work
I killed the weeds. Prepared the ground. Installed this Weed Control Fabric. Put Rock over it. 1 month ago. I already have weeds popping through it!!! NOT HAPPY!!!

Solid and Easy to Use
Heavy duty woven fabric is excellent under play area mulch bed. We use it to cover tree roots and hard-packed soil under the mulch. Some new grass is growing through, but so far no weeds.

Didn't Block Anything
we bought this in late 2020 with the idea that we could prevent weed growth over the winter and early spring in part of our garden. We laid this out and made sure that it stayed on during the winter. with the recent warm-up we went outside to check and were dismayed to see the entire underside covered in healthy green weeds. This did nothing to stop weeds but more active like a greenhouse for them to grow healthy.
