Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot regarding 6.3 Amp 9 in. Variable Speed Drywall Sander with Mid-Mounted Motor. The dust port sizes for this item specify 1-3/8, 2-1/4 in. Many adaptors are available for Ridgid shop vacs. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
It comes with a nice set of adapters that should fit any size hose. I am currently using mine with a standard size Rigid Shop Vac and the standard hose that came with the vacuum. Just a heads up. if you are doing a lot of dry wall, I am skim coating walls with mine, the vacuum filter will clog with drywall dust real fast. I am using an upgraded filter, available at HD I believe, and a cyclone dust accumulator that connects between the vacuum and the sander. The accumulator collects 90 percent of the drywall dust, or in my shop sawdust, and keeps the filter from clogging. Do an internet search on dust accumulators, they even have plans to build your own from a Homer Bucket from HD for a modest cost. I built my own from scraps and a drywall bucket, but to be honest the one I bought, a Dust Deputy brand works a lot better and was well worth the cost. All in all my set up works very well and is way cheaper than a professional dust collecting system.
