yes they are satin black

Do they fit the 9/16 in balluster? I couldn't find the shoes for those specifically. Thank you

They are loose on the 1/2" baluster (sloppy), so they probably do fit the 9/16.

Can you use these with the other brand balusters?

Answer

I am unsure if these will match the spec and/or finish of House of Forging's balusters. I can only guarantee that they will work on WM Coffman balusters.

Used these with both Coffman and House of Forging
I am not cheap, but I am not just going to give money away either. House of Forging has gorgeous decorative balusters, but they charge an arm and leg for everything else, too. I am not splurging when I don't have too...I picked up these, and WMCoffman plain balusters to mix and match with the House of Forging's decorative balusters and you can't even tell they aren't the same brand.

I was expecting an item that was a screw connect to the railing. Instead it is just a cover. After reading other reviews, I discovered there is a foot that can be purchased in a complete set. I have been unable to find a photo of the set or the foot. I was expecting a part that would elimate me having to drill a hole for each ballast. Pretty but a disappointment that I will have to drill 60 holes.
