Yes, the corbels are suitable for that application.
I think they could, but they wouldn't hold up as well as metal brackets, and I found them tricky to hang. I always have trouble getting slotted brackets to line up perfectly. If you are on an uneven surface, that could be even more challenging. They being said, they would be very attractive.
I suppose that could work depending on how big and how heavy your box is. They are fairly dainty. I remember thinking that they were going to be bigger. I was surprised when I opened the box. But they still worked for the table I built.
What kind of wood species is this. I'm looking for Oak.
This is some kind of soft white wood. Deffinately not oak. Search specifically for oak corbels.
Being made from hardwood means it may be oak, ash, cherry, maple, walnut or poplar.
The counter length is ~7' with a 8" overhang. How many corbel should I place underneath?
as long as no one sits on the end of the counter, you should be fine with these
I am not sure of the exact weight these corbels can support but I installed 10 in my bathroom and they are supporting heavy shelves. Each shelf is made from 140 year old salvaged wood and 1.5 inches thick.
