About This Product

This Water Worker 20 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank is a direct-fit replacement for many installed well tank bases. It's highly durable with a deep-drawn steel construction and a polypropylene-lined shell. The shell supports the water weight and the liner separates the water from the shell so there is no taste or odor. The thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air to reduce air loss. This tank comes pre-charged and will maintain its charge for years for easy upkeep.

Highlights

  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases
  • Constructed of deep-drawn steel for durability
  • Polypropylene-lined steel supports water weight to ensure water never sits in loose-fitting vinyl or rubber bags that can fold, crease and wear
  • NSF certified for clean safe drinking water
  • Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water, formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability
  • Sizing - count the number of water fixtures in and outside the home and multiply that # by three; fixtures include faucets, spickets, shower heads, dish washer, washing machine, etc. for hot tubs and sprinkler systems add one to two fixtures for each; there are no disadvantages to having a larger well tank as fewer pump cycles will extend pump life and save money on electricity
  • System connection: 1 in. NPTF, threaded malleable iron elbow with stainless steel insert; connection does not include plastic that can cross-thread or crack
  • Thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss
  • Molded diaphragm offers an ideal fit, sits on top of the water and will not fold, crease or drag against the steel shell
  • 20 gal of total volume; plain or galvanized tank equivalent of 42 Gal.
  • Pre-charged to 38 psig; 100 psig maximum working pressure
  • Maintains air charge for years to provide easy upkeep
  • Two-part water-based paint system sprayed over a durable two-part epoxy primer provides corrosion resistance and safe paint covering
  • 1 in. NPTF system connection uses malleable iron for dependability
  • Well tanks are not be used in Reverse Osmosis systems
  • Well tanks are not be used for water expansion in thermal (water heater) or hydronic (boiler/solar) systems
  • Accessories shown in alternate image sold separately
  • Tank Size: 15 in. dia. x 32 in. H

I bought this to replace an identical one I'd bought about 7 years ago. I expect it to last me a good 20 years or so at least. The previous one blew up when the pumphouse and surrounding sheds burned up in a fire (unrelated to the tank! Just don't use them within a foot or so of big fires).

      Durability
My last 86 gallon Water Worker lasted 10 years in south Florida weather. The installation was a bit challenging since I never did one before and needed to cut pipes for hight adjustments, but I was able to work through it. My water guy installed the last one. Since my retirement I have to watch my sending so I decided to purchase less expensive one, the 44 gallon and tackle the job myself. Hopefully, it gives me many years of service. Yeah I know, they don't make things like they use to. Hoping for the best, hopefully someone took pride in their work that day and made a good product again. Time will tell. Happy camper for now.

Because I had previously installed an 11 in. Union Tee, removal of the leaking Water Worker tank and installation on the new tank was fairly simple. I only wish the old tank had lasted more than 6 years.

The tank was pretty easy to install once I removed the old tank. Now my well water system is working great with the new tank.

Tank works as expected. Props to the portervelle store for having my order ready to go before I got there. Pickup was a breeze. The tank replace two of my big old steel tanks and is performing well. Was easy to install and appears to be well built. I would recommend this tank to anyone needing a quick replacement.

My 3.5 year old tank the bladder inside broke. Thank God it didn't break my 3.5 year old well pump. I love thd color and its less visible since it is shorter. Had it installed about 2 weeks ago, so far so good!
