Product Overview

This Water Worker 20 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank features a thick diaphragm to keep water separate from pre-charged air, helping reduce air loss. The unit is pre-charged and designed to maintain its air charge for years to provide easy upkeep. This tank also features a steel shell to support the water weight, a polypropylene liner to help prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water and deep-drawn steel construction for durability.
  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases
  • Constructed of deep-drawn steel for durability
  • Polypropylene-lined steel supports water weight to ensure water never sits in loose-fitting vinyl or rubber bags that can fold, crease and wear
  • NSF certified for clean safe drinking water
  • Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water, formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability
  • Sizing - count the number of water fixtures in and outside the home and multiply that # by 3; fixtures include faucets, spickets, shower heads, dish washer, washing machine, etc. for hot tubs and sprinkler systems add 1 to 2 fixtures for each; there are no disadvantages to having a larger well tank as fewer pump cycles will extend pump life and save money on electricity
  • System connection: 1 in. NPTF, threaded malleable iron elbow with stainless steel insert; connection does not include plastic that can cross-thread or crack
  • Thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss
  • Molded diaphragm offers an ideal fit, sits on top of the water and will not fold, crease or drag against the steel shell
  • 20 Gal. of total volume; plain or galvanized tank equivalent of 42 Gal.
  • Pre-charged to 38 psig; 100 psig maximum working pressure
  • Maintains air charge for years to provide easy upkeep
  • 2-part water-based paint system sprayed over a durable 2-part epoxy primer provides corrosion resistance and safe paint covering
  • 1 in. NPTF system connection uses malleable iron for dependability
  • Well tanks are not be used in Reverse Osmosis systems
  • Well tanks are not be used for water expansion in thermal (water heater) or hydronic (boiler/solar) systems
  • Accessories shown in alternate image sold separately
  • Tank Size: 15 in. Diameter x 32 in. H

Great product.
Works extremely well. You just have to set the air pressure (2 psi below) in the tank to whatever the cut-out pressure of your pump is. Pump cycles let's, saves energy and decreases water hammer.

It did not come with the black plastic moulding strip on the bottom as shown in the picture. The elbow on the bottom is made from Iron- this will corrode over time and is the only reason I had to replace the old one. If the elbow were made from Brass it would provide longer service.

A high quality pressure tank at a very reasonable price! I purchased the required fittings per instructions, such as 1" tee connection, relief valve, pressure gauge, nipples, unions (all brass) and the 1" check valve. I used a combination of Teflon tape and PST pipe dope - no leaks. Only problem I had was using the check valve. The instructions for the tank said to install the check valve (correct direction of course) between the pump and the tank. This is incorrect, and I will be writing the tank manufacturer. By putting the check between the pump and tank, and also pressure switch, this will give the pump a false signal - it will not come on again because the cut off pressure is held between the check valve and the tank/pressure switch. I removed the 1" check valve and all worked great. A check valve can be used on the suction piping in the cistern or shallow well, but a foot valve is best. Make sure your foot valve is in working order (holds the water in the pipe and doesn't leak back). Instructions with my new pump said to never put a check valve between the discharge of the pump and the pressure tank. Please excuse the mess in the photo, I hadn't finished the job nor removed the check valve at that point. Overall, a great product, exceeded my expectations and Home Depot was great to deal with - thanks!

Direct (although a different brand) replacement for mine, that had developed a rust hole in the top somehow. I double checked the pressurization pre-charge and it was 38#, just like it should've been.
