Can this be connected to 1" PVC pipe and installed underground?

Answers

Yes, my installation was just like this. I used 1" PVC male adapters and connected them to the two union connectors, using a good quality pipe thread sealant, then measured and cut out a section of PVC just the right length for the complete assembly. Then installed the PVC adapters to the PVC pipe and connected this to the valve. I also added a shutoff valve to the input side to make this easy to remove for service in the future, and installed a rectangular valve box at ground level.

How do you verify the pressure setting?

Answer

Thank you for reaching out! Either install a pressure gauge downstream or use Watts' IWTG on a hose bibb to check the pressure.

The double union connections made this pressure reducing valve easy to install. This valve is easy to adjust and does an excellent job at reducing our water supply from 60-85 pounds down to 55 pounds. I did have to install a water heater expansion tank into my line, as the pressure would creep up to 65 pounds during the night when there was no water usage and our two water heaters were cycling on occasionally. The pressure holds steady now.

I bought in store. It was last one left. Of course it was open box and box was ripped. Parts were complete. I purchased the wrong one and have to bring back. I think you should tape up these boxes as it has happened before
