Huge improvement over my former submersible pump. Although this unit would be great for a permanent installation that is not what I use it for. I own a hot tub in periodically need to empty. 550 gallons out of the hot tub. Then refill it. My former pump would take about 45 minutes to do that. This pump is rated at 1900 gallons per hour. I connected this unit to a 100 foot garden hose and was able to pump off 550 gallon from the hot tub In just about 17 minutes. I would declare that as a huge success. Love the new pump as well because it pumos down almost to the bottom. I had almost no water remaining. Very happy with this acquisition. Highly recommend.

Wow what a powerful pump. Not being familiar with pumps this came with no instructions for people like me. But just looking at the side of the box was enough explanation (but they are in pdf on Home Depots website). Had an issue with the first one but the vendor rectified it. Tried this in my laundry room sink (see video) and it was so powerful. This would be great for those who have water in their basement since you can just set it and it will automatically come on when water is 1 5/8" and remove water down to 1/2". I actually plan on using it for my blow up bathtub, it will be easier to get the water out of it then the drain hole. It has a 10 ft power cord, 1/4hp and discharge flow is 1900 gallons per hour. Great product!

This Wayne Waterbug 1/4 HP submersible pump is super simple, super easy to use and does a super job at pumping out water at a rate of up to 1900 gallons per hour. It is fully automatic, there are no adjustments and no assembly. It is ready to use right out of the box. It feels well made and comes with a very generous 3 year warranty from the manufacturer. The Home Depot also offers extended warranties for this product. It has a long 10 foot cord to connect it to the outlet. For the water output it uses a standard male hose connector and easily connect to any garden hose. The maximum PSI output is 10 PSI so this could also be used to run a sprinkler for the garden too. There is a nice carrying strap attached to the side. The automatic float switch is contained internally and the pump primes itself automatically and removes water down to about 1/2 inch. . The whole concept of this pump is simplicity and efficiency. If you want an easy to use, well built pump then this is the one.
Lightweight Economical Powerful Pump. Easy to Use. Great for large volumes but handy enough for smaller water removal tasks as well. Wide base stability, garden hose discharge make for easy quick set up. Pump is quiet, small and fast, discharge hose attaches easily- all making for a handy versatile “water removal tool.” Removable handle great carrying and hanging, can interfere during pumping. Housing is plastic but seems strong enough, with reasonable handling. Float and impeller cleaning access for easy maintenance. Built in safety feature if impeller jams. Selected for DIY use- emptying- hot tub, shop vac drum, plumbing draining, etc. A big plus would be manual as well as auto on-off, making pump more effective for pumping flooded basements- when level is below float shut-off, pump still draws water from surrounding area if manually kept on. Am going to find way to manually keep on, making it even more versatile. Expect to use in emptying washing machines, sinks, pool covers, sump pump chambers, and many household plumbing and heating water removal tasks. Pump and 25’ hose store in large bucket, ready to capture plumbing leaks, control and minimize damage, while repair is made. This ‘Waterbug” pump meets expectations after a few weeks use. Pump volume exceeds expectations making the Wayne .25 hp a great versatile submersible water removal tool.

I just received this pump about two weeks ago and i have already used it several times. I use it mostly to drain the water that builds up on my pool cover. In that capacity it has worked flawlessly pumping some serious amounts of rain water and melted snow off the cover pretty rapidly. I don't leave my pumps unattended for long periods of time although this unit has auto shut off which i haven't tried yet. I think i am going to get lots of use out of this pump this upcoming year.

Versatile and powerful pump for many uses. At the end of this review is an overview/demonstration video. I received this pump for the event of a basement flood and draining large puddles in the yard but it will also work for draining pools, hot tubs, ponds, etc. It has a built in floater so it turns on/off depending on how much water is present. It can be used indoors and out, I imagine you can use it in a sump pit as well. It is very easy to use, just connect a standard garden hose to it, place it in a low point in your basement or wherever you need pumping then plug it in.
The pump primes at 1-5/8" of water and will drain down to 1/2" although I had it drain down to around 3/8". It is completely submersible as well. This pump is 1/4hp and can pump a maximum of 1900 gallons/hour at 0 feet. At 10 feet, it pumps 1250 gallons an hour. It can pump water as high as 23 feet. Special baffles help block debris from clogging the pump. This pump draws a maximum of 2.5 amps so most generators will run it. It has a 10 foot power cord and carrying handle. This pump is assembled in the USA with foreign and domestic parts.

This Wayne Waterbug 0.25 HP Auto Submersible Utility Pump is just right for my purpose. The wide base provides good stability and the integrated notched strainer provides good pump protection while providing for minimal restriction to flow. The built-in float switch works well to automate the operation and is readily accessed to clear any debris. In my application the start level setting at 1 1/2 inches and off level setting at 1/2 inch is very helpful since the sump it is working in is only 2 ½ inches deep, one brick laid flat, high around a ledge intrusion in the basement. The discharge using a garden hose connection is a nice feature as I have always used a garden hose for this kind of pump discharge and it connects to the existing system. Overall a very nice small pump.

It has a durable high impact non-rusting plastic body that has a diameter of 10 1/2” wide by 7 1/2” high and comes with a waterproof 10’ grounded, 3 wire electrical power cord with convenient snap on/off web pump carry strap. This pump has a 23-foot pumping output lift capacity and automatically turns “on” when the depth of the water is 1 5/8” or more and turns “off” when the water reaches a depth of 1/2. Motor size is 1/4 horsepower, 2.5 amps at 120 volts. It is UL (Underwriters Laboratory) listed for electrical safety and it is assembled in the United States with domestic and foreign parts. This indoor/outdoor utility is handy to use in draining a swimming pool, removing standing water off a flat roof or to use in the basement as it is a great sense of feeling not to have a flooded basement again!

I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these pumps for my hot tub, which it will mainly be used for. What took hours to drain my 325 gallon hot tub now takes 10 minutes to pump out. This Submersible pump is rated to remove 1900 gallons an hour. This pump is so easy to use. Just hook up your 3/4" hose at the base, submerge the pump and plug it in. This pump has an automatic on/off function. Plug it in and walk away. The pump automatically shuts off when the water reaches only a 1/2" level. Very sturdy and well made pump that I'm sure will last for years. The pump can be stored in its very sturdy thick cardboard box and has a convenient carry strap.
