The Westbrass 1/2 IN. X 8 IN. IPS Brass Pipe Nipple in Polished Chrome is an 8" long solid brass pipe, chrome finished nipple for mounting showerheads or other in-home water fixtures for a 1/2" threaded valve. Please note that this pipe is threaded in ½” IPS, which IS interchangeable and compatible with ½” NPT. The threads at each end measure approximately .75” and the chrome, unthreaded section is approximately 6.5” long; the total length of the nipple is approximately 8.0”. The chrome finish is smooth and nicely polished. I would not hesitate to purchase this item from Home Depot again. Be sure to use Teflon tape during installation, for a leak-free install, which is also available at Home Depot or from HomeDepot.com!

It appears to be a high quality piece of plumbing. It is made of solid brass which will never rust. It also has finely machined male threaded ends. There are many ways you can use this pipe nipple, For instance it can be used to extend a shower head from the wall. In my case I am dropping it from the ceiling for an over head rain shower. It is very easy to install. With some Teflon tape and a rubber strap wrench its a breeze. I hope this helps with your decision. Good luck with all your projects.

The solid brass pipe nipple has male IPS on both ends. It is made precisely to spec. The finish is in polished chrome, which is shiny and beautiful. It is perfect for installing ceiling showerheads or coming out of the floor for connection to a half inch valve with female iron thread. The fit and finish are great. It adds value to the bathroom by its luxury look and it functions well. I have no doubt that it will offer years of flawless service.
