17.78 cu. ft. Freezerless Refrigerator in White

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this model refrigerator because I had one like it 10+ years ago. I loved that one. This new one was twice the price and is made super cheap. The shelves are flimsy, the light bulb is small abs is blocked by a box..so gives a minimum amount of light. For some reason they took out a shelf and added "two more" flimsy drawers. Drawers hold a lot more. Also, it was very difficult to " level" the refrigerator. The installers worked about an hour to " level" the refrigerator. Then, there is " no" temperature gauge...only a small light colored snowflake, a medium colored snowflake and a thicker filled in snowflake. Wow! Whi thought of that one??? Also the door handle is small and ultra cheap. These refrigerator was not available to view in person and had to be " special ordered" sight unseen...I don't think I would have ordered it..if I'd seen it in person. Tge most disturbing part of this was in my first comment...it was twice the price of my other one, I still have and works great...and looks half as good. Thank goodness my other one still works...I'm not sure how much co fident I have in this one.

This is the second unit we purchased after the first one seemed to not be keeping the temp down and so we replaced it with a second unit of same mfg/style/capacity. The first unit lasted 10+ years, the second, less than 3 years and we paid less than $1000. Published price is now double to $2000 plus what a JOKE!

I have this refrigerators build in my home first movies in trablme many people come fix 2years later leak water on bottom I call hard to connect I have out side people come fix now motor is out he recommended buy new one only 6years used hard to find size I like

The refrigerator has three temperature settings. When it arrived from the store, the temperature of the contents were higher than norrmal in the recommended medium cold setting. At the coldest setting, some items would freeze. After about a year of use (after warranty ended), even the coldest setting is not sufficient. Interior temperature is now 12-13 degrees C or 54-55 degrees F. Calling Whirlpool fror help is hopeless. After a long process to get through the recorded messages, you cannot talk to anyone. You can only make an appointment for a repair person. We called our own repair person and he said that repair would likely cost around $500 and that we should fight it with Whirlpool. We decided it is not worth the hassle and the refrigerator is going to the trash. This review is posted as a warning to other buyers. Do not buy this one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are using this small refrigerator as a second refrigerator and it is performing quite well as such. The only complaint I have is that the light at the top of the refrigerator is not adequate to light the entire refrigerator. This attached picture really doesn't demonstrate this well, but it is very dark at the bottom of the shelving.

When my 20 year old side by side started failing, I very quickly learned that the new refrigerators have pretty well outgrown the allotted space for a replacement in my mid 70’s model older home. I had pushed the size limitations with it 20 years ago. I loved the bottom freezers on the newer refrigerator models, but the size was just not going to work. Because the kids have all moved away, our family needs have changed. Typically, not as much space needed in either the freezer or refrigerator, but when entertaining and with an expanding family, There are times that I needed a lot more space in both. This refrigerator gives me the best of both worlds! It takes up less space than my side by side and I have so much more room inside! I opted for a 7 cu ft chest freezer that sits in my mud room around the corner from my refrigerator. I have so MUCH more space available to me than I ever dreamed of having! The holidays were a breeze this year! Not nearly so much planning and juggling of things in the fridge due to lack of space as in past years. I’ve no use for a water dispenser and rarely ever used the ice dispenser. I didn’t want either of those options on a new refrigerator and found it very hard to find a new fridge without it. Problem solved! I did, however, buy a portable ice maker so that I could keep a few bags of ice ahead for entertaining.... and to help fill up space in my freezer. I may be a unique situation, but if you find yourself in mine, I highly recommend it. Not to mention that I have an overall investment of about $1100. in my refrigerator, chest freezer and ice maker. I have to say that a few things gave me pause .... buying a refrigerator online sight unseen in a store, and not knowing anyone that has one was daunting to me. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews from as many sites that I could find. I doubt that there’s a tremendous market for residential, indoor freezerless refrigerators. But I knew that I trusted Home Depot and they didn’t let me down. And bonus, they had the best price! The last thing that gave me pause was the color white. I wasn’t sure I wanted that .... very much preferred a black finger print resistant stainless. On the other hand, I knew that I wasn’t willing to spend out an additional $1000. For a regular stainless steel front. I have to be honest..... I like the white so much better than I thought I would! I’m getting ready to change the color and facade of my kitchen cabinets. So, the white color actually works on in helping me in my decision on that!

If I could have given this refrigerator zero stars, I would. It has been plugged in for 3 months and the evaporator tray overflows once a week all over my new bamboo floors. I must get down on the floor each week with a sponge to bail a half gallon out of the tray. I have contacted Whirlpool several times and they have sent technicians out and the conclusion is that because of the humidity in Hawaii, the condenser and evaporator cannot keep up with the amount of water in the air. But “there is nothing wrong with going the unit, so there is nothing Whirlpool can or will do.” They suck,,,!!!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator as a second refrigerator for my home to use when we entertain and I couldn’t be more happy with my decision to purchase this brand. The shelves are made of glass and are easily adjustable. The fridge door has ample space and again, the ability to adjust heights of the door compartments. There are 4 large drawers to store vegetables, fruit or whatever. Definitely happy with my decision!
