Q:Can you remotely preheat the oven using the app at all times? Do you need to turn this option on once, or every time you want to use it?

Answer This Question
A: Hello Mike, TheRemote Enable must be turned on before the App can send a heating instruction. If it is off, it will only send the cycle to the oven where it can be started manually. If Remote Enable is on, you are good to go. We hope this helps.

Best purchase ever!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bout this appliance last month after our old oven died. We had a few issues installing it due to the depth of the new oven and our stovetop gas line being in the way, but after that was resolved, all was good. It’s super quiet. Sleek! And super easy to use. The touch screen options make it easy to navigate. My only comment is that I wish the timer could be louder, like a true alarm, but I usually use my Apple Watch for the time just in case I leave the area anyway.... we love it so far. 10/10 stars!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded to this oven when I bought might townhome and glad I did.
I love the assisted and cooking feature menus. It's even smart enough to recognize there is no food in the oven when using assitant cooking mode.
My Thanksgiving hens cooked even and beautifully.
It notifys your phone when the cooking cycle is done too.

To Many Issues with this Oven
For starters, I just remodeled my entire kitchen and just had to have this oven. Works great when it works, but a few months in the screen just went blank. My husband went to the reset the circuit breaker and it went back on, okay, no harm done, right. Well, this has happened quite a few times but that is least of my worries. So now, I get an hourglass figure on my screen that will not clear whatsoever. The oven is almost a year old now and I'm really sorry I just had to have it. My husband is a disabled Air Force Veteran that has served his country well, and he can't even cook dinner or warm up a pizza for himself because the crazy thing don't work. I keep reading that parts are hard to get or you have to wait forever to get installed only to go bad again. What's my recourse if this crazy exact thing happens again? I'm a forever Whirlpool customer, but this is unacceptable.
Who's going to cook my Thanksgiving Dinner?
Sincerely,
Elena H.

After calling the Pro from Home Depot, it was never installed due to the placement of the metal box behind the oven. The metal housing of the wires were in the way of sliding the oven in. The installer finally left because he was on overtime.

Disappointed in my purchase -- meh
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The physical design of this oven is quite lovely. It is the firmware that is problematic. This oven was installed on May 22, 2020.
Things I like about my new oven:
• Spacious interior—The oven maximized the amount of inside space available so I have more room now than in my old oven that fit into the same space.
• Three racks—I love having three racks for baking.
• Convection baking—This is my first convection oven and I am a convert. Everything bakes more evenly and a little faster.
Things that could be improved about my new oven. YOU NEED TO KNOW THESE ISSUES BEFORE PURCHASING THIS UNIT.
• Add a convection drying mode with a temperature range of 110-165—Like many people these days, I like to soak and dry walnuts and this oven does not allow me to do it effectively. To dry a pan of walnuts I should be able to use an 150-160 degree oven heated for 36-48 hours. While my new oven has a “Keep Warm” setting that allows me to dry the nuts at the right temperature, it is not a convection mode and the oven turns itself off after 12 hours, which is usually in the middle of the night. Which leads me to my next request--
• Allow cooking duration time to be set up to 48 hours—Right now as a safety feature the oven turns itself off after 12 hours. This is great if you forget to turn the oven off before leaving for vacation, but some things need to cook for longer than 12 hours, like drying fruit or nuts. There is a Sabbath mode that lets you turn on your oven for a longer time but does not let you cook at a low temperature. I want the option of both a low temperature and long duration. While I am fine if the oven turns itself off after 12 hours if no cooking duration was set ahead of time, it seems that if a cooking duration is set by the user they should be able to set a longer time.
• The oven needs a better wifi antenna—We bought this oven thinking it would be fun to have a smart oven that we can control with our phone. No one told us that the wi-fi only works if the oven is within approximately 30 feet of a 2.4 gH router (depending on obstructions such as walls or metal barriers). While our router frequency is fine, the oven is more than 30 feet away. Normally I’d just say, okay I can live without turning my oven on with my cell phone. However, the oven firmware Is regularly updated and without wifi our new oven will not receive these updates. This is a major drawback.
• Design the clock to keep accurate time without a wi-fi connection—The oven has a large, easy-to-read, nice-looking digital clock. Aesthetically, I really like it, and I look at it regularly. However, without the wifi connection, while the clock still works, it loses about one minute a week. It’s been decades since I have had a clock that loses time!
• Allow users to change temperature setting without turning off oven first—Ever have a recipe where you start cooking at one temperature and then have to change to another? Or times when you cook one thing in the oven and then switch to something else that requires a different temperature? This oven requires you to turn it off and then to reprogram it to change the temperature, even if it is just a 25 degree difference. These extra steps, while not difficult, are just annoying.
Overall, with the amount we spent splurging on this “fancy” oven , I am disappointed with how it works. This smart oven is in some ways dumber than my previous 25-year-old oven, which was definitely easier to use. I do not recommend this oven unless they can change its programming as outlined above.

Comprehensive, Long Review Shipping, Unpacking & Installation: My oven arrived by lift gate truck...
Comprehensive, Long Review
Shipping, Unpacking & Installation: My oven arrived by lift gate truck and the 2 guys on the truck placed it in front of the wall cabinet opening for me, unpacked it and took away the packing material leaving it on the packaging base. No installation assistance of any kind was provided so beware. I first verified my cabinet opening size one last time. The feet on the bottom need to be in one of 3 possible positions to fit various size cabinet openings. That is basically what the so-called FIT system is--feet adjustment plus an extra piece of stainless at the vent openings near the bottom for the largest range of cabinet openings. I had already relocated the electrical box from a low spot in the opening to a high, central spot. There is not a really good guideline in the manuals of exactly where to locate the power. . I used a right-angle connector (not provided with oven) into a fully recessed electrical box to make my connections. I was able to rest the oven on a temporary stand while I made the electrical connections to power reaching over the oven into the cabinet but it's a bit of a stretch at my age. You will need every bit of cabinet depth required in the specs. After coiling the cable on top of the oven, the oven slid into place fine. There are just two screws that screw into the faceframe of the cabinet to hold the oven in place so width of opening is pretty critical as well. I predrilled into the cherry hardwood to be sure the screws would go in without stripping the heads. Maple would probably require this as well. I never did see a good explanation of clearances required at the top and bottom of the oven in order to clear items like a microwave above or drawer front or warming drawer below but I had plenty of clearance with something like 1-1/2 inches in both cases. It might be different for different openings like the one that requires the extra trim at the bottom. There is maybe a 1/32nd or 1/16th inch gap between the control panel top and my cabinet face. It seems like the control panel should be adjusted just a bit as far as its attachment to the rest of the oven to correct this. Not really a big deal.
Startup & Network Connectivity: The unit powered up with a surprisingly nice display with a large clock readout that wasn't set to local time or the right date but that's easily set using the tools menu (look for the gear icon). Next came the connection to the Internet. That was a probably and perhaps the biggest to date. I could see my router just fine and even connect to it but I could not get out to the internet or connect to the Whirlpool app downloaded to my Android phone. That process actually required a service request that took 3 work days to resolve with something being registered manually at the Whirlpool location. Yes, you are communicating through a server so that may be another privacy issue for some folks. Meanwhile, I was still able to start using the oven. There is some sort of lubricant/oil used to prevent any corrosion in storage/shipment that emits a smell that you would not want in your food. If there was an instruction in either the install or use manuals on how long to heat the oven before using it for food I did not see it. We just let it heat to 350 for about an hour. The smell isn't that bad--just something you would not want in food.
Cooking Using Control Panel: Over the past month I have cooked several types of bread, rolls, casseroles and meats in the oven but have yet to use it to broil. All the results were very good with even cooking. The fast preheat is a nice feature BUT you are limited to using the center rack in that mode. Not sure I understand why but it's not a big limitation. Then I planned to cook an entire beef tenderloin for a big dinner and planned to use the temperature probe to determine how well done it is. Only problem with this oven HAS NO temperature probe. That seems very odd given the smart nature of it and the price point.. It seems like a natural to alert someone via cell phone or tablet that meat or even bread is done to the desired temperature via probe. If Whirlpool would at least provide a wi-fi capable probe as an add-on that sets outside the oven and connects to their software it would be a big improvement. But for baking and roasting I really like this oven a lot so far. I have limited experience with the true-convection cooking but it seems to reduce cook times and even out the color of some baked goods when cooking lots of rolls and so on. Preheat times seem reasonable and are, of course, a function of oven insulation, tightness of enclosure and wattage. Again, it's reasonable and about the same as my last oven that was only 7 years old when it stopped heating. It was NOT a Whirlpool.
Smart Oven Features: It is nice to be able to scan a package and get cooking instructions auto-loaded. Trouble is, many foods aren't supported yet such as canned dough products. That will probably improve over time along with other software features. There are plenty of cooking time/temperature/mode options from the control panel or the software. I don't quite understand why there is sometimes a lack of correlation between the control panel temp and the phone software temp. Eventually they seem to sync up. One issue I have with time/temperature settings is that the time must be entered AFTER preheat or preheat becomes part of the time cycle. Yes, that's an issue with almost all ovens but maybe someone can figure out how to trigger the time to start AFTER a door open and close cycle indicating that food was placed in the oven. Overall, it seems like the software is a work in progress as is Whirlpool support for Information Technology. But every contact with Whirlpool was polite and patient on their end. One more issue that someone else pointed out is that you can't control the oven through the phone without connecting to a router somewhere--making a wifi connection. I could not see how it was possible since it wants to default connect to your home router or have you select another network. My garage door software is smarter in that respect.
Summary: This is very good oven that could be a great oven with a couple of tweaks. I love the fact that it is made in USA and I will be patient while Whirlpool improves the software. It does a very good job of cooking and the cabinet is well made including the bottom supports and the sheet metal surrounding the oven, which is much better than my old oven which was not cheap. My experience with Whirlpool appliances over the years has been very good with one refrigerator lasting more than 30 years without a single issue. Well worth consideration for your oven replacement, kitchen project or new home.

Holy, Convection! This is our first convection oven and I think we will never go without one again! So many pro's with this oven, I will just list the cons. First off, this uses most of the space inside an average 30in cut out (See photos). The delivery guys weren't able to install since our electrical connection was in the way. I was able to move the electrical box (4x4) to the upper right corner and the stove slid in perfectly. Next con, it is Smart so it can hook up to your phone. The connection seems to be intermittent, sometimes the oven shows connected with the app and other times it does not. The Fingerprint-Resistant stainless steel could be improved on, does show some fingerprints. We have had this oven over a month and have had no problems with our day-to-day cooking. Whirlpool is superior, we have the matching microwave and love everything about them.
